I've put my Nissan Almera up for sale. Should be appearing on the Auto Trader website in a few hours. Put 'NR1 1AA' in the postcode and it should be the one at the top of the list.

I have put it on for £2,995 but will offer a Shiter discount if anyone here is interested.

The Simca is VERY BROKEN.

It decided to lose all it's oil on the M25 and now the engine's knocking like buggery.

FUCKSAKES.

Got a lift back home on the back of an RAC truck, dumped it in a street near my house, it'll be there until I decide what to do with it.

As a result I now have ZERO working cars (technically the Maestro's working but the MOT's expired, so I can't use it).

Also I have NO money, so I can't even afford to fix anything.

Ahh, bollocks that's a right pisser. What's the best option, second hand engine when money allows or rebuild the current one? Will the Maestro want much for the MOT? Sadly (and unusually) I don't have a second (taxed and tested) car about or you could have borrowed it until you were sorted.

If you're still stuck in a couple of weeks time give me a shout as I might have a spare car then.

New rocker cover gasket now fitted to the Poojot. No pissing wonder they leak as there's only 3 sodding bolts holding them down!

Didn't know whether to post here or on the grin thread but have been doing a motortrader mate a favour by sorting out a badly running scooter and payment has been made in the form of a 2000/W Mondeo Ghia X estate. Full leather, electric seats, climate, MOT'd tll next year and tax to boot.

That's new fishing wagon sorted, just need to shift the Laguna estate on now.

Still waiting for The Volvo's new indicator/running light to turn up. It's been a week since I ordered it:

Nice Volvo, shame about the light

On the subject of lights, here's a novel way to put a spare Volvo 740 headlamp lens to good use, as a receptacle for some slightly burnt microwave popcorn:

New battery for the 2CV arrived at 9:15 this morning. That's about 18hrs after ordering. Impressive! www.thebatteryguys.co.uk are on my 'recommended' list. Battery cost £41 including delivery and is a specced up one. I'll bosh that on tomorrow and see how the charging is looking.

Have just been greenlaning in the Maverick again. It is bloody good. First time I've driven UP the Strata Florida bombhole. (as well as down!). Bashed the underside a few times though. It's a rough old lane if you're not careful. I thought I was...

Kind of depresses me doing that lane though, because there are scars all over the place where idiots from around the country (and sometimes the world) just piss about where they like, creating all sorts of havoc and seemingly not giving two hoots that some day soon someone will say "ok, that's enough" and just ban all vehicles from all lanes.

Mum's Ford Fusion was shiply'd up from Brum to the inlaws house in Kidsgrove today. Bit weird seeing it arrive on the back of a lorry and Dad said it was emotional watching it go. The wife can't bear to even look at it. Anybody want to buy it?

I keep hearing good things about these guys and I really want to give them some of my money, but they don't list Herald batteries. I need an 038 (or an 015 I think), anyone know what else these would be fitted to? they infuriatingly don't seem to have a way to search for the type of battery, only the type of car.

Google 038 battery and find out which cars have them, then use that?

Mark 1 metro. Simples.

Anyway. Here's a pic from earlier. Magical. (that's taken roadside, not on a greenlane as it happens).

Wow, sorry to hear that :|

What are these like to drive anyway? I'd always assumed (it is) like some lightly modernised Metro but probably more like some random Korean tat?

Don't be so ridiculous!

actually, I was pointed in the direction of a battery interchangeability chart thing that was helpfully on Pdf, which my Firefox cannae open for some reason so I just gave up even bothering. Good start.

Just imagine all the ridiculous question I'll be asking when I actually get the thing...!

Hey, Mr Barrett, can you at least share a picture with us of the plastic wonder even though it hasn't arrived yet? Would be super awesome if you could.

2CV is up and running again. Bit of a novelty not having to use a handle to start it. Initially was over-charging but is now behaving itself. I think I'm going to have to fit a voltmeter (only posh 2CVs got them from the factory) as I don't want to boil my new battery.

Before you need to ask: body fluids are best removed before they dry onto the carpets!

Finally got round to fitting a JVC CD player I won off Ebay last year to the Saab, replacing the rapidly failing original Sony Cassette unit which didn't play cassettes and crackled like an old 78. Even more chuffed that I managed to A) not set fire to anything, B) not stab myself with anything, and C) that it actually works and sounds pretty good.

Now I can listen to my Grumpy Old Fart music anytime I want, and not have to rely on the pox offered by whatever is on the radio. WIN. 8)

Decided to investigate the returned intermittent PAS on the BX 'Safari.' Got as far as checking the LHM filters (clean) and gave up. Decided to fix the central locking instead. One rear door had stopped working. Bought a box of random BX bits from a pal some months ago. Happily it included an actuator. A simple case of swapping them other then? Well, sort of. I somehow managed to remove the broken one, and then refitted it! That puzzled me for a while. All sorted now though.

Might try a change of LHM. While I've poured quite a bit in since getting it back (it was barely above the minimum) perhaps it needs a complete change of fluid. I've got plenty knocking around, I just can't be bothered. I also have a spare second-hand pump - which is the other possible fault.

No oile leak from Pug so rocker gasket has done it's job. To celebrate this fact I've lobbed even more veg oil and some diesel into it taking the tank to the very, very top so I can get 'real time' mpg figures.

In other news I'm off to almost certainly score some new wheels L8R, just need to sort out storage for them and a few other things that will need attending to.
