On Sat i set up the boost by gear on the megane r26 i fitted ecumaster black standalone ecu to recently.

Works unreal, with 1st gear using 10psi, 2nd gear using 13psi, then 3rd gear and up full send 24psi. Instead of wheelspin in lower gears it hooks up and fucks off, with full 430hp useable 3rd gear onwards, in the dry. Fast.

It’s been 44 years since I last did this and we didn’t drown!

After fitting the new (to me) radiator the water pump decided it just didn’t want to live no more so it started weeping. Removed to check fitment IMG_7791.jpeg.1bd1bfcbd2274ec117830ec135312cea.jpeg

Apparently the 6v traction battery took three days to trickle charge. Now starts first turn of the key I’m told. Going on Saturday to check and exchange money. Can’t collect yet ( slight delay because mum is in hospital ) but it’s Easter next week….

Good to hear that she’s home. No one sleeps well in hospital, I hope she make a good recovery.

Fwd and helical lsd as standard, the chassis handles it really well, i had a go in it and was really impressed with traction and drivability. The map is very smooth/torque limited to 360 ft/lb, the way Chris /Efi tunes them is immense. No dramas or big torque spikes, the boost ramps up nice over the rpm range.

Took the Focus in for it's MOT today.  Failed but not too badly.  Weak handbrake and a snapped front spring.  I've recently replaced the handbrake cable so new shoes have been ordered along with the spring.  It's had a bit of attention in downtime at work recently with the back bit of the N/S sill replaced in a rough but strong fashion and a lot of rustkiller and black stonechip underneath along with a new bracket to hold the bottom of the rusty front wing in place.  It's on 203k after 8 and a half years and 80k with me.  Hoping to keep it going another couple of years and 20k before it completely drops to bits.  Keep thinking I'd like an electric car but every time I drive something more modern I remember how much I hate being nagged by a car.

My daughter's Mk1 Focus has passed 230K now.  It's a 1.4 three door. Apart from drinking oil, losing lacquer and rusting here and there it still passes MOTs and goes well enough.  My son recently bought (leased) a Leapmotor T03. He loves it.  The nagging can be turned off by double clicking a button on the steering wheel before each trip. No groping through menus on a bloody touch screen required!  The snag with leased deals is the annual mileage limit, sometimes as low as 6K.  He upped his to 8K by paying a bit extra.  The rest of his 20K per year will be shared by two motorcycles and his MK3 Focus.

Saw this on the A11 earlier, what’s the score with the reg? GB plate, not  diplomatic, obviously wrong format..

Foreign reg printed on a UK style plate?

29 years and 9 months of driving and I finally popped my ‘something on the roof rack’ cherry today with some 3.6m lengths of decking.

Nobody died and of more primary importance I managed to not feck up the ratchet straps.

Speaking of weird plates, I didn’t get a photo but an old couple driving a pretty new Honda jazz with the number 6767E. Struck me as unusual, not sure what the origins of that is.

Yes. Imported then and restored and owned since 1993/4 I think.

When I sent my works van in to the dealer for its first service they managed to leave a bleed nipple on a rear caliper loose resulting in the brakes going bye bye on a motorway off-ramp terminating in a roundabout.

Next service it went to a back street garage that left the sump plug loose and it dumped a load of oil outside my house while parked up over the weekend.
