This is, usually, when the lady of the house says "Nah, I can't live with that colour" 😀

Looks a decent job to me.

Maybe being terminally single has its upsides!

Dug this out of the garage today and performed the annual waggle of the wires under the seat to make the airbag light go out for a few days.

MOT tomorrow. I know it needs at least one lower arm again but hopefully we shouldn't be too far away from a pass.

@motorpunkback on TV! Looking like a mustachioed Simon Mayo.

Fucking hell I’m getting a pasting in the comments! Why is some arse banging on about Barrichello when I never mention him anywhere at all?! And who is the other arse who twice posts that they wouldn’t buy my books? I couldn’t care less! Aaaah, man. YouTube. 😂

You can say that 5 times 😂

I do agree though. Longest serving member of the fleet at 5 years this year. None of my other fleet members are over a year!

I thought it was hilarious- often wondered about the low- race wonders who bought their way on to a team. Ego and money over ability. I do wonder if the early racer we hadn’t heard of and did a couple of laps was perhaps scared and knew he didn’t want to do another race? Maybe he realised he had responsibility to his workers?

If you put Adblue in your diesel tank this is what you get!

I visited my favourite garage today to find a customer had put Adblue in the wrong filler neck under the fuel flap. The tank was drained and fresh diesel added but it kept putting up a code to say it had water. They keep draining the fuel filter and hope that will clear it without a full strip down of the fuel system and pump rebuild.

I still want a facelift 75 at some point.  Problem is a lot of them lost cruise control in Project Drive and that's one thing I wouldn't do without.

Couldn't you just get your housekeeper to do the reversing for you?

Mine has cruise. In any for sale advert look for a row of at least 4 buttons in the centre console, it should have it. Most awkwardly placed button ever though!

Not too bad! There was a new person on reception today and she seemed a bit sorry to deliver the news and was surprised when I already knew. Guess who mashes F5 on the MOT site , and I know I'm not the only one who does that 😂

I had real bother getting the airbag light to go out this morning but it did stay off long enough for the journey to the garage. It obviously came back on again! I'll need to hard wire the connector. Ball joint I knew about, handbrake has always been shite and I never use it due to the car being an auto.

All easily sorted!

My modernish Range Rover was at my favourite garage for them to take it for MOT, I warned them they would have to temporally put out the airbag light. When I picked it up he told me he had taken the drivers seat out and carefully cleaned every connection and the light is out.

Nothing remarkable about that you say except a Land Rover specialist had told me the only way to fix it was a £500 wiring loom! Then my bill was £80 including the MOT.

That is the kind of garage I dream of!

Another simple airbag light fix, if a clean doesn't work,  is to just unplug the pretensioner from under the offending seat and bridge the plug pins with a (usually) 3 ohm resistor.  I had to do this when I removed the factory seats in my van to install swivel seats.

Posted

This reminded me to check the MOT date on the Clio, and I see that I need to put it in before the end of feb. I also have an airbag light on, which was previously cured by unplugging and plugging back in… fingers crossed the corrosion hasn’t gotten worse since then! I should really just re-seal the bloody sunroof.

Mine too - the two heated seats and cruise control.  The Tourers never got the rear window blind and mine doesn't have traction control.

I normally look for the buttons on the right of the steering wheel when I'm checking for the presence or absence of cruise.

I always assumed the cruise control was those buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel?

Mine didn't have it. Or anything else for that matter. It was an ex ambulance, or rapid response vehicle to be precise which is what I continued to call it. So it had the biggest engine (not including the V8 obvs) with the most basic interior. If it was possible not to have something, I didn't have it.

There's a master switch on the centre console in front of the gear lever.  The buttons on the steering wheel are just the set/resume and cancel, they don't do the on/off bit.

I've just had a text from Autodoc saying they've been notified of the damage to my Ampera and they will be in contact soon to discuss repairs.  What the actual fuck??

That’ll be Autodoc on Whiffler road I imagine, accident repair place rather than the online parts supplier!

Thanks. I often used to look at other people's centre consoles just to see how many more buttons than me they had down there.

Haha!

I couldn't imagine how many messages you'd get from Autodoc if they were repairing your car

YOUR CAR HAS ARRIVED WITH US

YOUR CAR IS AT OUR STRIPPING CENTRE

YOUR CAR IS IN OUR GUATEMALA PROCESSING CENTRE

etc etc
