Might pop along to this. Liking lot V5 a lot.

Historically I go to this auction and buy lots of shite as prices tend to be on the lower side

Partner's sister was after a cheap car that's CAZ complaint, not too big but with decent space. Keen to avoid remote car buying and being messed around I decided it was easier to spend the day travelling across the country to pick this up from @BeEP. Much like the V70 T5 I bought from him years back, it's a great little motor. Made it back no problems whatsoever. It likes to pitch about a bit on a undulating country road so you really have to hang on, not sure if that's old dampers or by design though!

It even came with a free colour-matched CD

New rear discs and pads added and the brake  warning light stayed off so we finally have an MOT on the Laguuuuunaaa!

Yeah, I did wonder about that. Maybe the electrics should be tested as well if the tow ball is fitted or something.

The Bentley I snapped the other day.

1924 Bentley 3-4½-Litre Speed Model by Vanden Plas | London 2024 | RM Sotheby's (rmsothebys.com)

recent £200,000 spent, estimate £240-300K.

"Over the past 11 years, chassis 584 has been treated to more than £196,000 of restorative work. This includes a full strip-down and colour change to the current green hue by Haslams Body Repairs of Bolton. Invoices (available to view on file) from vintage car specialist VBE Restorations alone total £171,458 across 2013 as the 3-litre engine was increased to 4½-litre capacity while the interior was retrimmed with green Quartz Wilton Carpets plus Bank of England Green leather. Today, this Bentley retains its original numbered components: engine crankcase, front axle, bonnet, steering column, and differential nose-piece."

Sounds like not much is left then. Probably should be on a Q plate.

Back at Pauls for some strapping on the pump, worth coming just to see the car park

Hurrah! Possibly one of the least exciting cars on AS is good for another year:

Just under 2,200 miles since last year's MoT.

New shiny black UK passport turned up today.

Not a bad turnaround all things considered,it took a few days to find anywhere to get a good colour photocopy of my Bg ID card.

Preserved ex-London Transport Metro-Cammell bodied AEC Regal IV. Just missed it. Sounded very powerful and pulled away very smartly. Just lovely.

But after 100 years of use what would be left...

I’ve thought about replacing it a few times but as it just keeps going then there’s no point. It’s a great “an car”

How the hell do you drive the wrong way down the M6 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon? What a terrible accident, condolences to all involved

Just so we’re clear, I think Goosey is a fantastic name for a new baby.

They are a bit wallowy, we had one when my daughter was born (pram fitted in it better)

Their just a corsa c underneath. I hated the ex's tbh, hated driving it, hated how it felt, hated how it handled. But I only drove it rarely, she liked it and it was very reliable, and easy and cheap to work on.

Anyone else had issues with P2 V70's sticking rear wiper?

Easily solved with a trip to knowsley safari park

36 miles with 27 Junctions? It's not really a 'motorway' is it? More like an urban ring road.

That’s the trouble with all our motorways anywhere near a city (which is most of it).

To join in with the all the good MoT passes that we seem to be having on here recently, my Jag also passed it's MoT without any advisories. Amazing!

Well chuffed.

When I dropped it off there I had to walk for a bit to the local Tesco to catch a bus home. Spotted a few things on the way:
