They've arrived, they feel like heavy duty quality stuff.  Not used them yet but expect they will perform admirably.

I don't really know anything about it, and the owner isn't on here.

@richbraith might know!

Yes, it was mine for about two months.  It's a bit of a mish mash I'm told, as the decals are made up to look like a Euro spec Ultra, but I'm hardly an expert.  The current owner swapped my 309 Look for it and then bought it back as he missed it, but I think he's fonder of the 309 these days and @loseroneought to buy it.  My first drive of it was in @JohnK's ownership about five years ago.

Yo Mike, I bought it from Ed (SambaS) and then sold it to Joe 😉 it then went to Dicky and back to Joe

Joe also had the Solara off me

@Jimbob McGregor very kindly assisted and helped me change the oil on the Duster last night.  There's a chap on PH who did his after 1k and it was full of bits of metal, so I thought best to get it swapped.

It ended up being delayed as the Renault dealer on eBay sent the wrong filter the first time, but it's still earlier than the recommended first change at 30k.

It was black but not a horrible thick soup and no shiny metal bits.

I hit 3500 miles this morning, two months down.

Still averaging 55MPG, very much rating it as highly suitable for the job we have for it.

Had a bit of a festival outside my house yesterday.

It was also spotted on Facebook again

How can you see those two and not also mention the 309?

... Is the 309 a GTi?

It wasn't there!

A week or two after the service I got a phone call from Mrs L1 about two hours before I was due to drive to Coventry, to say she had just hit and killed a suicidal lamb.

I nipped over to @Jimbob McGregor's and checked out the damage.

A couple of cosmetic cracks in the lower bumper and the grill.  The worst of it seems to be the cover of the motor which moves the louvres to reduce airflow into the radiator when it's cold, which has cracked.

The thought of weeks off the road and paint etc. to fix some tiny cracks doesn't appeal in the slightest, so for now it's just the start of the character which this car will develop.  It's now three months old and it's hit 5500miles, so time to rotate the tyres.  No wonder my old shite was struggling with the abuse we put our cars through!

Right, fleet movement time.  I've just sold @sdkrcmy share in the MI16, which I will regret in the future but for now I'll do something stupid.

Oh good.

I've had that from six insurers, and I've called them all as well as online quotes Lancaster could continue my 205 policy for £730..

Admiral Multicar insurance has almost never let me down yet, never heard of Sheila but I'm sure she'll do fine.

The disadvantages of being a bairn.

The 205 was £90 on a classic policy.  This is a modern policy with only 1 year NCB.

But this one will never be a classic

I would argue it's an classic already tbh but I'm not an underwriter

Thing is good.  Engine seems healthy once running though requires two runs on the glow plugs sometimes.

Ride is great

Need to investigate the bubbling on the nsr wing.

The McGregor offspring happened to be passing as I got back and helped put it back together and test ride it.

Possibly even better with the adults.
