bezzabsa Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 OK so have Pinky Skoda..... BUT I want NATO skoda.............. REALLY REALLY REALLY Bad..
Matt Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Nay. Maybe I'm the only one that has weird thoughts like this but keep red and Czech fire service replica. Or police (although Google suggests they were mostly estates) Edit: Of course as others have said it's your car so do whatever you want. Yoss, danthecapriman, eddyramrod and 1 other 4
bub2006 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Do what you want bud. Your car and all. Some folk may bitch over what you do but who cares. My car has a nato wing,a paint free wing and door and a black bonnet and boot. The car needed a respray anyway but its not worth it yet so thought id have a laugh and a pisstake in the meantime.
vaughant Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Pink should get back to red if it's not too far gone (or originally pink of course). NATO stuff looks gash on any car other than army related, same with gopping matte black cars, totally rings them in my eyes. But that's the point, in MY eyes, it's your car, do what makes you feel good about it, or opinions don't mean squat. Sigmund Fraud 1
nebuchenezer Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Want? Do. Bollox to what anyone else thinks
Asimo Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Vinyl wrap - what you want your car to look like AND heritage pink is preserved for posterity.
richardthestag Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 NATO it if you want to, your car etc I wouldnt, rather rock that pink
sporty-shite Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Up to you, really. Although after seeing the Czech fire service replica, I'd say do that. You can NATO anything!
Jim Bell Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 What's a NATO?North American Trade Organisation or summat isnt it? Also a shade of green similar to Olive Drab that vehicles and equipment are sometimes painted. Scenebois are edgybones. oldcars 1
scaryoldcortina Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I have most of a tin of camel trophy sandglo here if you want to OLLI it instead... Jim Bell, eddyramrod, DodgeRover and 4 others 7

NorfolkNWeigh Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 As others have said, your car, your choice.But...I'm sure there must be statistics for the life expectancy of cars that have had matte paint of any hue applied, scrapped by the next ticket sounds about right.( does not apply in Scotland) DodgyBastard 1
martc Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 You could turn it into a Skoda 'Tortoise'. More info at - https://civilianmilitaryintelligencegroup.com/12008/the-skoda-tortoise-pa-ii-czech-tank Dick Cheeseburger, Yoss and The Moog 3

eddyramrod Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 NATO green? I wouldn't, but as so many have said, it's your choice, what we think means diddly. I think even I, Mr Avoid-Polishing, would be out right now buying a tin of Colour Cut and trying to rescue the red.
bub2006 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Looking forward to this... I need a roller! As for comment about usually getting scrapped by next ticket,my avensis is rough in top but underneath, structurally and mechanically sound. It was covered in dings and scrapes. I wouldnt dream of painting a car olive or nato if it was in fine fettle before hand but mine isnt so why not. End of day do what pleases you!
mk2_craig Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Always seemed like spending money to devalue a vehicle to me. Although to be fair its probably at rock bottom in terms of resale already. Other thing is, does it then become more distinctive to the wrong sort of person? AlabamaShrimp 1
bub2006 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 It will cost around 25 quid to completely paint with a roller if felt inclined. Bonus is its easy to touch up. Not devaluing cars if they already worth knack all and need work on the aesthetics anyway. But im odd anyway chaseracer, mk2_craig and billyboy406v6 3
Yoss Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 You can't devalue a Felicia. On the NATO thing, don't they do a desert sand version. Might be more appropriate as that was genuine* Skoda colour for most of the 70s and 80s. *They probably didn't call it that and it may have been shinier at least for a while but still... By the way, I wouldn't. If I was going to mess about with it I'd go for some sort of rally car look. They look great as rally cars. eddyramrod 1
chaseracer Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 But im odd anyway Never was a truer word spoken... bub2006 and outlaw118 2

Dick Cheeseburger Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I generally buy cars because I feel sorry for them. They tend to be the runt of the selection, regardless of price bracket. It’s a flaw of mine. Regardless of that though, I do try and make sure the colour of the car is something I actually like. Crazy, no?
