Oh bloody hell, terrible timing DW! I have a major fancying for one of these, but right now I couldn't be further away from the UK, and I'm not back til June.

Why? These autos suit the car so well.  A manual gearbox would be like trying to juggle whilst dozing off in your favourite pipe, slippers and dressing gown in front on the fire on a snowy evening..

It is a great auto. Always seems to be in the right gear.

I would LOVE a Tanto, but sadly SMOL cars don't seem to have SMOL prices.

Also, the Lexus isn't too big...

The only times I've ever thought a car was actually too big were:

1). Trying to thread a Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit through Loch Street multistorey car park in Aberdeen. Each level ramp required a 7 point shunting manouver to negotiate.

2). Trying to do a U-turn at a mini(ish)-roundabout in a pink 50s Caddillac and realising halfway through the process that I hadn't enough steering lock. You can swing a flipping COACH round there with room to spare...but not a Caddy. Having the top down made that doubly embarrassing.

I'll need to try an MX-5 properly one day. Have driven a few though. Only issue I have with them is that I've owned a Cappuccino...which made the MX-5 seem needlessly large and feel heavy. Assuming the seat goes back far enough for you in the Cappuccino - I had the perfect driving position in mine - but the seat was against the back stops!

Yes, I do fit in a Cappo. Again though, they make MX5s seem extraordinarily cheap. I want to buy something for less than the Lexus sells for - tops up the Bulgaria budget.

Ouch...sorry, hadn't realised they'd gone up *that* much in the last few years until I looked. Continue as you were!

Just caught up on this whole thread, looks like a lovely luxurious vehicle. Did you end up sorting the suspension springs and the dampers? Not that it really matters on a car at this price, just curious.

Sooooo much want.... so little cash spare. I had the Celsior400 (ex wuvvum of this parish) version and it was simply gloriious in all respects. European touring in style, even the ex, who hated all my old cars with a passion, loved this one.

After all the work done, this is a true steal..... lucky buyer awaits.

No. It's one reason for sale. I've spent enough on it. Needs someone else to take it on and do the next stage.

I've only had a quick look on Google, but probably about £120 per corner for dampers. Not looked the springs up.

Well, now I'm almost tempted to keep it. Alas, I really do need to top up the Bulgaria fund, so I need to stop spending!

This will shirley not be around for long at that price.  Its a shame I don't have space to take on any more basket cases luxury wafting conveyances.  I was sort of hoping you'd sell it at the beginning of winter after spending loads of money on the cambelt so I could have it as a wbod, now I have other things occurring so I can't accommodate it it.

Standard excuses - free bump, GLWTS.

Are you hoping to purchase Bulgaria then?

That looks lush! I might try and sell a Lancia!

It'd be shite. Unless I can somehow fit a wind thingy to my phone.

And to your hair...

That does indeed look mighty suitable. I've already got the S-MX though.

I'm trying to resist buying it. I have absolutely no use for it which means that my low willpower dictates that i absolutely must buy it!

Nah. What you want is a nice Lexus...

Because I don't like autos.

My 3.2 XJ8 sport is currently fulfilling any low mpg desires that i currently have. Plus its less than £100 a year on limited mile comp classic insurance.

I definitely have major ls400/430 want and need to fulfill this soon, unless i completely loose all sensibility and buy a silver spirit instead which i almost did at xmas.
