Ha. Thanks, all I never noticed the stickers!

I have some Autoshite stickers - I will leave 1 remaining in the Rover and it may just turn up at RR, As for the Volvo - I am on the hunt for classic insurance.

Once I have it sorted and on my drive, I'll make a list of what it needs, the first task will be a new rear silencer - £20 off ebay so thats sound for MOT in November (presume its a fail).

Secondly, the fuel gauge will need to visit that most likely, and no backlight on the dash (Fuse?).

Most annoyingly, Sunroof has been sealed shut. Will need to find out why. I quite like a sunroof. Though could be more ag than its worth.

More than likely it's the bulbs that have failed. I've had my 740 for 5 years and I've done several bulbs. It's not hard to do them.

Do have a quick reccy at the fusebox though.

Thanks chaps, if its non then I may aswell get clutch done first instead think it needs doing, pedal seems quite high - then it grabs if u know what I mean. Does that sound like it needs a new clutch ? I've driven a few Volvos that are like that.

Ill do clutch, then do cambelt.

More importantly - someone has done a right bodge on converting the radio wiring loom to ISO - speakers are heavily distorted, Ive tried a new set of door speakers and the sound is the same. No rear speakers working at all.

Thats annoying!!

Timing belt looks to be one of the easiest ever. And they're cheap.

Have they crossed the earths on the speakers? And is this the era of car where there's a fader lurking outside of the radio, so only stereo wiring to ISO, then four speakers on a fader which may or may not cope with the loads?

Check the wiring. One of my rear speakers (and the central locking) doesn't work on one door and it's because the wiring had snapped where it comes out of the body and into the door.
