SF17 - Bubble Car Museum: insert photos/memories here

Well, 50 minutes into a 4 mile journey from Ealing to home and all gauges encouraging. If it can withstand Park Lane gridlock and idle away whilst breathing in bus fumes, I think it will make it.

Even remembered to disconnect the battery.

T4 is one step forward, six steps back thanks to ECP sending not one, not two but three, yes three wrong parts.

Plan three is looking good, folks......

Only question now is do we paint tomorrow or do we travel with a built in whiteboard??

Why do I have a feeling they will watch us like hawks and we won't have the freedom of previous shitefests? Either way, no car cleaning will take place and I'll be putting my gear back away later...

It's a commercial site so of course we aren't going to have the freedom of the field of dreams. That is pretty unique.

Paula has responded to everything I asked, we are getting a cafe on sat night with a bucketeer quiz (with free cakes by the sound of the online dating thread)

They have been pretty good with us to be fair. Not that unreasonable if they have had previous experience of it making a mess.

Plus means you can get pissed on my free beer. Winning!

Dyane latest:

HUZZAH!  Fuel filter fitted (super unleaded HURTS if you get it in a scratch!); air filter sorted.

ARSE!  Still won't idle; accelerator pedal's coming off again.

VERDICT: tomorrow, I think...

Dyane was beginning to look very doubtful for this weekend - then FPB7 arrived!  :D

Had more or less resigned myself to bringing the tent in the volvo. However, the volvo had other ideas and has started pissing oil from the crank seal at the gearbox end.

Not sure whether to spend tomorrow pulling a gearbox out of a XC90 or have a go at putting the van back together. Bear in mind it's been off the road for 18 months, has no doors, no seats, no front end and half an engine.

What do we think??

Do you need a lift. I wasn't planning on coming via the M65, as It's not on the way, but I am going via the Snake pass, which means I'll almost certainly be going round the south side of (I heart) MCR, on the M60 so if you were in stockport about 10 am on Saturday I could make the middle rear seat available.

You're an absolute Leg End but as Moog will testify, I've got plenty of back up vehicles....it's just that the ones that are taxed are falling by the wayside :-)

Anyway, I've got the wing on the ex-RichardK C5...come tomorrow, it'll be taxed and take up its roll as the new daily, as well as Shitefest transport!

Once again, thanks though....we'll hopefully be going down on Friday but there'll be a couple of cans awaiting your arrival on Saturday ;-)

I am going via the Snake pass,

Shame you're going on Saturday, I'll be going that way on Friday.

It'll break two miles from Cannock then.

There's a good chance I'll be coming and bringing the caravan, but won't be able to set off till after work on Friday meaning it will be after 9pm when I get there - anyone any idea if they lock the gates at any time?

Bollocks.

Work has me working Friday and Sunday so will be relegated to day visitor on Saturday if I can get my shiz together early enough.

So long as it gets me to Tamworth services...

The owners are the rudest, most miserable arseholes you could hope to meet,I'm pretty certain this will manifest itself at some point

I nominate Hairnet and TooSavvy (is TS coming?) to be our official spokespeople.

On the other hand, I once went to a 2CV camp at the museum. If they can cope with that, they can cope with anything.

A gap in my diary says I can attend, see you all on Friday evening :-)

Can I just apologise now for all the forgotten faces I will think I'm meeting for the first time, but probably already met in a different field at some point in the past five years?

I've read that elsewhere on the internet too.

Leave it white, get everyone to sign it. Be a bit like the last Montego on show at Gaydon.

That's all well and good but I won't want to paint it then and it's taken me two months to find this wing...I'm not searching for another so this can hang on the wall!

I have raided the butchers outlet... three Lorne (hairnet, barefoot and SVM CATERING LLC), due to lack of haggis I have acquired six pies and five bridies (all they had left) and potato scones for those who intend to sample SCTSCH_CATERING.

Get up to Morton's*, they'll be launching the remaining early stock about 3 or so. Take a binbag, fire them in, they'll have softened up by the time you get there.

*tomorrow
