Ok now a police car has come out of Winnall Manor Rd. Stopped at the junction a little too long as I'm sure I look suspicious here but they carried on.

That earth strap looks considerably shorter than when they set off.

I agree with every word. It has been great following this. Glad you are all back safely and hope you will have time to enjoy a bit of relaxation before the last leg of the journey.

8 days from Bucharest! Their brains must have a hell of a lot to process.

Does this mean you managed to get through the whole of France without getting a tug?

Yes!

Note to self. Stop booking hotels in a rush! Ferry was leaving France, so I had to rush to get it booked before we lost signal. Thanks for coming out! Gorgeous Favorit.

I've booked the channel tunnel for the wrong month before. Not the cheapest cock-up that I have ever made.

Just got back and need to go to bed as I'm up early but I'm glad I made the effort. Good to meet you both. I wanted to get a picture of my Fav with the Dacia.

It seems a bit weird to think I won't be checking this thread every couple of hours to see how far you've got after tomorrow.

Well done and hope the trip back to Wales is uneventful.

Good night chaps.  Amazing plan, perfectly executed.  Been loving it all the way.

Imagine if they'd done it in an Invacar.

Oh. Another thing. Driving a left hand drive car with hopeless headlamps AND salt incrusted windows and wipers, in the dark, is quite scary. We had tried to clean the windows, but with minimal success. Might need to give it a proper wash tomorrow.

We also noticed a squashy tyre on the ferry. We gently limited to a petrol station and found it was at 11psi. Now thinking we should have maybe checked the tyre pressures at least once in the previous 3800 kilometres...

The fact that the first drive at night was with one dipped beam bulb out and beam deflectors made life tricky too.

Many thanks to Yoss and David for coming out to say hello and sorry we were a bit distracted and crap.

Well done lads. Glad you're back in blighty, safe and well, and no doubt asleep.

Bums. If I had read this thread earlier, I wouldn't have spent half-an-hour waiting outside the wrong premier inn, and then spent 20 minutes blatting round the M27/M3 at ludicrous speed to get to Winchester before Dolly and Cats collapse fast asleep.

Still, managed to get a bit of video of them leaving the port.

Just must add my appreciation and admiration for an entertaining and enthralling thread. And for saving a worthy motor which I guess would've faced an uncertain future in its homeland. You've both proven it can be done. Epic stuff. Well done fellas.

Welcome home to the pair of you, and well done for toughing it out.  I'd recommend an entire day of sleeping, followed by an entire night of sleeping, followed by doing things other than cars for a bit.

I'm having amusing visions of you selling the car in the future, only for it to be bought by a pair of diehard bearded Romanians who do the return leg to repatriate it.

Have some time out - eat well, sleep well, be proud!
