Won with a single ticket?

Bloody brilliant. What a bargain.

Stockport eh? This could be interesting! I shall start making arrangements. Would junk towers be a long distance from Manchester airport?

Oooh this sounds interesting, where do you live?

Posted

Very close, autoshite taxi service available!

Where are you coming from?

I'm coming from London. Just checked and there are only early morning or late evening flights, so train will probably be the selected mode of transport.

I'm ridiculously excited by this, my missus doesn't seem too worried ( but she probably doesn't realise the lack of economy yet...)

I've dropped Junkman a pm, hopefully we can sort something for a midweek collection next week.

That London, eh?

That's only 50 litres away.

Doesn't really matter, since Manchester airport is also 50 litres away with that thing.

Well done Sir, I am experiencing dissapointment and relief in equal measure.

Posted

Oooh I could do maidenhead/wycombe to possibly Birmingham/warwick way if anyone wanted to pick up the baton?

Posted

Yep, also feel relief and disappointment at the same time. Whew. Boo.

I am happy for Meshking but sad for me.  It'll make the Granada easier to explain to the missus though.

I could potentially do the leg from Beko's to London in some sort of weird combined Granada/P38 megacollection.  Heaven knows we'd have a choice of petrol station shots to choose from.

I was in the boot of the Merc welding today...

Which one...?  ;)

Well done Meshking!!

Bloke down the pub says you should only drive these with the wind behind you or more warning lights will come on.  So check the weather before collecting m8 cos this bloke knows his stuff about P38's cos his neighbour had one new in 1998.

My new one. I will persist in poking wee rusty bits in W124s, never learn.

Should have listened to junkman.

If Meshking is worried about warning lights I have an almost full roll of insulating tape he can have to cover them up.

I feel like I've played Russian Roulette and just heard "click".

Congratulations to Mr Meshking, I can live out my P38 dream through you.

You got a bargain, the range rover at cannock went for a fair bit. Fucked my quiz score right up it did.

Collection arranged for Wednesday afternoon. I'll prewarn petrol stations on my route home to keep extra stocks in. Assistance from Mr Conelrad has been kindle offered and definitely accepted. I shall attempt a collection thread...

Stockport, Greater Manchester.

That'll be Cheshire then cough

I thought that I was the King of cheap Rangeybollocks, after I bought that red classic one from red5 for 500 quid with an MoT (and later sold it for 500 quid), but I have been comprehensively out megabarged by this!

Posted

I remember these coming out, my dad was a mega Range Rover fan and we went up to Harwoods for a look (no chance at all of buying). I was never sold on the looks but in 1994 the interior was just in a different class. I've still got the boxed brochure set we managed to blag.

Has the boxed brochure set got a price?

Ive had mine over 10 years and there are no warning lights- I think the bulbs must be bolloxed.

This roffle and thread has been better entertainment than most other stuff for me recently, cheers all.

Well, it's nearly 24 hrs and no sign of rafflers remorse. Thanks for all the positive vibes, it's very heartening!

Did some car shuffling this morning so there is a p38 shaped hole on the drive. Unfortunately I think in a great set of timing my inlaws are leaving their Renault thing on my drive for two weeks whilst they holiday somewhere, luckily we benefit from being surrounded by vacant houses at the moment, so there's plenty of space available temporarily.

As Junkman said, it has finally come home... There are five discos on my road, and two range rovers. Perhaps I'll be allowed into the golf club now ;)

Search "Europcar Airport Connect".  It's one way car hire to get you to the airport. But if you book online you can select any UK airport.  So, Basingstoke to Heathrow - £49. Basingstoke to Inverness Airport - still £49!. But let's keep that info between these four walls or they'll stop it.

I'm very jealous.  I missed this roffle till it was too late.  Which is probably a good thing considering.  When you get bored of BP stations and want to move it on, let me know...
