Popular Post Rowver Posted September 2, 2016 Popular Post Posted September 2, 2016 Thought I would say hi as I was encouraged to join this wonderful forum by two of your members who I was fortunate enough to meet earlier in the week. What wonderful chaps, we enjoyed a brew and some great car banter. Anyway, thought you may like to see my shitter. A rover p6 three thousand five which I've recomissioned after it laying dormant in a barn for over 30 years. It's all mot'd and road legal and retains its original panels with that gorgeous natural patina. Yes, this actually was a true barn find. When I look through eBay, there can't possibly be as many barns as there are barn find cars. Alexg, Dippy, EssDeeWon and 55 others 58
Jim Bell Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 That looks very very very very nice. Well come.
beko1987 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Do not wash. Welcome, it looks lovely! eddyramrod 1
HillmanImp Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 That looks brilliant. EDIT The point of it is that it not brilliant. Its dull faded and rusty. Which is brilliant. holbeck and mat_the_cat 2
Ghosty Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Now that's a P6, welcome! Looking good - I expect a certain P6 aficionado will be along before too long.
RoadworkUK Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 You know, that's exactly what a 45yr old car should look like. Excellent work. Welcome aboard. eddyramrod 1
Skizzer Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Ooohhh, that's gorgeous. Welcome aboard. If the members you met are who I think they are, then at least one of them will have already told you: DO NOT PAINT. andrew e, chaseracer, CGSB and 2 others 5
83C Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I was looking at P6s the other day on eBay. I like this very much! Jim Bell and Laseraligningfoofooflanges 2
eddyramrod Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Welcome! And what a lovely Rover. Another vote for DNP.
Rowver Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Thanks for all the comments. I've had smart ones before but I just couldn't cleanse this one with newly painted panels and shiny bumpers. It's just so honest and I get more pleasure from it than any minter. It's not been washed, or painted and won't be, just gonna let her continue to "mature" honestly. I might give her a run out to cholmondely castle on Sunday so you may see it there for those attending. trigger and worldofceri 2
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Hello again! Glad you made it onto the forum!
Junkman Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I IZ WAIL ENVY I've seen it in real life and it is just fabulously shonky. holbeck, Ghosty and Skizzer 3
quicksilver Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 That looks like it came straight out of 1985 Fabulous patina and Herr Junkman is absolutely right, it's just perfect as it is. Welcome aboad.
Pillock Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 FFS. I remember when this place was all Laguna MKII's. Now you can't move for P6's Welcome That Rover looks spot on to my eyes! I can barely remember it being all Ranchos, let alone Lagunas. tooSavvy and HillmanImp 2
Junkman Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I like that faded and not so faded GB sticker thing.Sadly stuff like that is impossible to replicate. HMC 1
Ghosty Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Luckily stuff like that is impossible to replicate. EFA. Dubbermongs would. Junkman 1
Junkman Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 PS, I am not entirely convinced the last word has yet been spoken about your other V8, Rowver.
Rowver Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Thanks for the comments. I've had nice p6s but this one give me most enjoyment. It would be cruel to cleanse it with new paint and shiny bumpers, it's just too honest, having survived thus far. There'll be no new paint or washing going on, just a continued, natural aesthetic deterioration! I make take her for a run to cholmondeley on Sunday so you may see it there. chaseracer and mouseflakes 2
