Strangeangel's Shite-tastic Shenanigans 12/12 NEW MOTOR - ACHIEVED.

Well, that's come round quickly! It only seems like five minutes since I was scrabbling around looking for a rear caliper for the last MOT.

Sadly, I'm fairly sure it's going to fail, not least on account of there being a hole in the floor under the rear seat. Being a 30 year old Citroën I realise there may be others too...

On the up-side, it's driving well with no strange knocks or clonks, and - as has been the case for quite a while now - all the LHM is on the inside. The electrical stuff seems to be doing its thing too, so I'm hoping it's not going to be too hideous a fail.

Keep 'em crossed for us, more tomorrow.

It's carked it, after a full TWO WEEKS in service. Hey Bolk, your alternators suck balls.....

Maybe they should rebrand as BORK(ed)

Yey! Should give a nice to do list which means it should be done and ready for shitefest!

I'll need it done before then, I've currently only got one working car and it's too feckin' cold for scooters!

I can't remember the plate... What's the verdict? Positive I presume from your post...

It is indeed positive. As a former owner, and as this was the last BX I'm likely to own, it pleases me greatly.

As you've probably gathered, I wasn't expecting that! There was an advisory:

001 Fluid suspension accumulator slightly deteriorated Offside Rear [2.4.D.1b]

but that's as bad as it gets. Well pleased.

An update for this car's friends, for I know it has a few...

4 x front to rear hydraulic pipes

1 x accumulator sphere

1 x N/S handbrake cable

1 x rear height corrector

Plus labour. Well in excess of what it's worth, but when did that ever factor in? Still batting.

Glad it is still a thing:)

Does it need a whip-round for these precious things?

I believe this is Strangeangel's Autoshite bike BX, not the beige beauty. What's happening with the beige beauty?

Is that the famous* photo where everyone in shot has owned the car at some point or another?

Yes that is it taken Shitefest 17

This is when I had it early 2016.

I'm happy with the Saab at the moment but I've got half an eye out for a decent BX estate. I really regret selling mine.

A blood-curdling clonk from the rear axle that can only be fucked trailing arm bearings is now in evidence. The old dear has laboured on honourably as first choice/only car (there have been bits of 205 everywhere for a year now) since it's last whopper of a bill in July '18, but still...

Bugger.

I'd rather do rear arm bearings than a re-pipe. They're really not that hard to do. Worst bit is the bolts that hold the clamp on the rear anti-roll bar.. they are always insanely tight. I use a 1/2" 6-side socket on them with either a rattle gun or a very long powerbar, and still struggle.

Other than that, fairly straightforward. There's some photos of one I did in my historic chod link below.

Good to hear from you again!

Hope it doesn't die off.
