Laguna in 10 grand madness (only £165 a month)

Id rather buy an old laguna for £169 total and bask in the sheer misery that would pursue for the inevitable future.........

I'd never spend this much on a Renault, because depreciation.

However are these generation Lagunas that bad too?

Engine wise, the 2.0l petrol, 2.0 dci and 3.5 v6 are all designed primarily by Nissan.

Electronically, the electronic modules are very different to previous generations too.

The Coupés are holding their value much better than the hatch and estates though - I guess because they are rather pretty.

I'd rather save 3 grand and spend the difference on fuel to get this:

Because v6.

But then if I was spending that much on a car, I'd very much rather have one of these instead:

Big things, fabulously imposing, striking design and rare on the roads. About the only modern thing that strikes my interest really and I'd like to be spending money on.

Dunno. But the name 'Laguna' has the same gravitas as 'Aids'.

I think they look awesome. I wouldn't spaff £10k on one, but I'd be happy driving one.

GOOOOONNNNNAAAAHHHHH COOOEPAY - we will all be frotting ourselves over them in the future but 10 sodding grand? Seems like a really good buy if you hate your bank account, your future and your credit rating.

By the way, is Autoshite now a Laguna quango or something?

I'd like a Laguna to see if I could prove one could be run for 6 months or so without any major failures.

Photos in poor light - check

Messy backdrop - check

At least one upside-down - check

Dirty screwed up paper mat - check

Annoyingly cocked steering wheel - check

Curbed Alloy selected for wheel close-up - check

Attention to detail is why main dealers can charge more.

Here's one with over 200k on the odometer. A record?

Imagine consulting those instruments for over 200 thousand miles, they look they were rejected for appearing too cheap by SAIC-MG.

Either that, or someone had the front wheels jacked up and running in reverse for a day trying to wind the miles OFF hahaha

That's the fault code reader. It's logged all 219'679 of them and it's still going.

I got given one, it failed after 17 days...

Given it's just a dashboard full of water I'm not sure if that's a major failure or just a feature of french shite?

Ah Mr Hooli are you the same filthy motorcycle owner with an impressive beard that i have met on occasion from the other forum?

Wot he said - I reckon they look quite Aston Martin-ish ...to a blind man looking the other way.

I'd roll in one.

Not at 10K, but then this comes from a a man who spent £9K on a C8....

Disregarding the badge and associated headaches, that's a fucking ugly car.

The best bit of this is that the Dealers webportal will now be displaying an astonishing hit-rate on this car. They're now just waiting for the phone to ring.

Am I the only one who thinks that mk3 Laguna Coupes are really beautiful cars and the true successor to the 406 Coupe?

Not that I'd pay 10 large for one mind. Maybe when their value has been divided by 100 I will consider one.

Damned nice looking car to be fair and someone will buy it. We laugh at the sort of person who does, but if nobody bothered buying awful cars most of us would be driving the same boring shit now. Long live the sort of (brave) nut cases who buy cars like this.

they keep me in work too! I was talking to a customer yesterday, her husband just bought an automatic DCi Grand Scenic on finance. It broke down on the way home from the dealers!

I'd be more surprised if it didn't!
