Progress today with the water, we had lost our meter/stopcock in the verge in spite of the best efforts of Bucketeer and had to call Anglian water to help us find it. That was found and then the tap would not let water out however much you turned it!

Also signs out and Shelter erected.

Bring your tools, the water collection truck has been neglected and seems to have a seized throttle and gear linkage. Add to that I can't remember how to start it!

I need to share some backpacking tips and a beer with you by the way.

I look forward to it Will. You might have to provide the beer though unless you like 40%+ foreign spirits. That's all I have.

. . . to meet a bunch of people I've only spoke to online

You've met me before. Don't let that put you off though, I'm sure everyone else will be nice.

I was hoping we'd be on the road this morning. As it happens, folk departing tomorrow have a chance of getting there before us! Rubbish.

If you arrive in the dark, don't run over my tent. You should spot it, it's the green grass coloured one on the green grass.

Some beautiful Buckinghamshire scenery, earlier today.

I'm working at home tomorrow until lunch time. I did sort of half expect 17-coffees and supernaut to lawl up to the door at some point in the morning however I gather from Faceache that they're in the pub and therefore the chances of 200+ miles being covered between The North and here before 12pm are slim. :-D

Will be coming in the astra now as managed to borrow it back off my mum for the weekend. She admitted she brimmed it full of petrol the other day but realised straight away and called the AA. £200 later and no lasting effects. Just need to start packing now!

I'm still at work, preparation level -6

Will also need baccy, financial preparation -4

Amy said she would buy me a few tins of beer though, alcohol preparation +2

I'm there. Wear stout shoes! Also, I suspect cars will get stuck in the entry to the field if we have any more rain. Advise getting out near the barn to inspect the terrain before committing! RAV dragged the caravan through with no probs.

Autoshite week from hell means I won't be making it :-( have a good one lads.

I shouldn't keep torturing myself by looking at this thread, i was looking forwards to my mates wedding and the honour of being best man but now I'm just pretty pissed off to be missing my favorite event of the year, and this years sounds better than ever!

Fluid and tyre pressure check tomorrow, stocking up with cleaning products and some tools. Must not forget Dolomite bits!

Can i ask a practical question? What are people eating if camping? Are we OK to take those portable bbq's if we raise them off the ground so no burn marks?

Yes, if raised. We reckon we could find bricks and tin sheets to protect the ground.

Wasn't there somewhere we were to be careful about chewing up the ground because it was a hay field or something? or am I getting confused?

Myself and cms206 are providing, as usual, Scottish slice sausage and tattie scones for breakfast. Think there may be bacon as well. I've got 24 rolls from Sainsbury's as getting 24 Scottish breakfast "crusty" rolls at short notice is a pain.

Anyways bed time. We shall see yous approx 1300 - 1400 tomorrow.

Ludlow sausage bought and chilling in the fridge,  beer bought and stashed in the 405 with 2 tents etc.

Work at 7:30am then straight off down the M40 when I finish.

Can't wait :D

Thanks dolly. As for cooking I've got grill and hob in van so I'm OK I think. Tattie scones same as hash browns? I was confused at cobs being called barm!
