Six-cylinder Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Shitefest 2016 has been discussed in with the Visit to Chinnor and Princess Risborough Railway thread but I thought it was time for it to have its own thread as the railway visit is not compulsory to Shitefest. Date is Friday 24th to Sunday 26th June 2016 (Camping in our field the week before or after is possible just pm me.) If you want to know where we are it is Buckingham, Buckinghamshire 10 miles west of Milton Keynes, because this Forum is open to everybody on the internet to read I will not post the address but will send it out to AS members by PM who put themselves on the attendance list. Camping Facilities - a flat field. There is mains water but the tap is 100 meters away from the camp area so you will need your own water container. Toilet - I will hire a plastic box and ask for donations. There is an organic matter composting bin on site. We can take cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles back to our home recycling bin. General rubbish, there is no rubbish collection from the field and no room in our home bin so you need to collect rubbish and somebody can help me with a tip run. Fires are banned on the site except Arthur Foxhake patent Travel Log Burner. The nearest pub is 1.5 miles away so we are hoping for good weather so we can stay on site to eat and drink, we plan to erect our 3m x 6m party shelter so there is somewhere to go if it does rain. Off site Buckingham and Winslow are a short drive away with super markets, fish & chips, India, Chinese and kebabs. Milton Keynes is 10 miles and you can eat from any country in the world plus cinema, ski and snowboard zone, rock climbing, casino etc if it really is wet. On site amusement Binhoker668 made this suggestion “Would be very cool to have a non mot-ed snotter there too, and an mot booked locally for Monday. A weekend-group-resto job on the Poo Disastra would be class†I volunteered our 1963 Herald 1200cc or 1968 Spitfire fitted with a 2.5 Ltr engine, that I think stand a reasonable chance of passing an MOT with a weekends fettling! Of coarse if you fettle any of my cars I will be more than happy to pay for any parts and the MOT test. I also have a fair number of Triumph spares that may be useful. The Herald could do with a repaint as it has been brush painted for some time and used to look respectable in 2007. The boring google maps default way is basically the way I will go to SF, which is OK, but a bit 'normal A road' I can't get Hoogle maps to show any other route short of major fucking about dragging stuff around. Are we up for a bumbley b road potter from A to B, or just get in car, fuck off to the train all day, get back ASAP for drinking and shite fettling and leave it at that? Any route we plan won't be as epic as the Wales trip we did around the Lake, and any route involves skirting around Aylesbury as I fucking hate Aylesbury, we will get lost etc, it wont be any fun and Chinnor isn't signposted from Aylesbury... We will just end up down some single track B road rat run, then a main A road, back into a single lane busy road, then at Chinnor. There aren't many ways to make it exciting or fun short of a massive detour somewhere pointless and not pretty. Plus, if we are doing Chinnor Hill we will go a different way out anyway, up Chinnor Hill, up to Bledlow (Will drive right near the tip if we need to get rid of rubbish from Friday), then Princes Risborough and back to Thame, then the way we came to Buckingham. Just a thought...

The fire question was almost a deal breaker with Mrs Cyl, so no open fires of any kind, but Arthur Foxhake has saved the day with his patent "Travel Log Burner", this is the only approved way to have a fire on site.
