I'll be investigating the injector seals as soon as it stops bloody raining. Seriously, I think I'm yet to really drive the Volvo in dry weather. I do now have the V5 though.

 

Which leads me to my next question. I feel I've got too many projects and the Volvo is never going to get the attention it needs with me. So, I'm looking to hold my first ROFFLE RAFFLE. I'm thinking of £5 per ticket, pocketing £150 myself, and the remaining £145 will be split between two charities close to the hearts of the family that gave me the car. Now, would folk prefer a CHRISTMAS DREAM draw prior to Santa's visit or should I time it for the January sales? 

 

EDIT - the £150 covers the £85 for a new alternator, and the £41 of fuel to collect it. And maybe a tiny smidgen of actual profit.

 

Basic facts. Located in West Wales. I may be able to assist with delivery. MOT 18th February. 2-litre, five-speed manual. My Little Pony lunchbox INCLUDED. Will probably need a mild tickle at the rear end of the offside sill for MOT. Otherwise (and I'm yet to get under the car) it seems pretty solid. One headlamp wiper works. Could do with rear dampers, and probably a few suspension bushes but drives fairly nicely really. Are folk interested?

4 and 16 taken?  Not by me, this time.  I love these old Volvos, provided there's nothing to the left of the brake pedal until you get to the tunnel.  This one appears to have a superfluous pedal, what's that about?

BONUS EXTRAS

 

I can confirm that Sigmund Fraud was right - leaky injector seals are why it's a bit uneven on tickover and running weak generally. Mind you, it still drives ok and, as I've just reminded myself, it has near enough a FULL TANK OF FUEL! Because I'm an idiot and also because the fuel gauge doesn't work. The mileometer was reset when I filled up.

 

Remember the delicious spec on offer here folks. Heated front seats (which work), air con (no idea), carefully moisturised nearside carpets, a glovebox that is held closed by a small metal stick AND a larger stick for keeping the boot open. ALL FOR JUST A FIVER! 

 

Sorry. These bonus extras might not be quite in the league of a WilsonWilson roffle. I'll see what else I can find...
