Parts from the Peugeot 404 and the Farina Oxford/Cambridge were supposed to be interchangeable, unfortunately the French built theirs in metric rather than imperial.

Due to a photocopying accident, the Mark 2 Cortina body design was copied from the Arrow series Hunter. The mistake wasn't realised until both were in production and Rootes threatened to sue, but Ford being the bigger company agreed an out of court settlement to pay a royalty to the Rootes group for every Cortina sold. This worked for a while, but Ford felt threatened by the potential for negative publicity so decided to bring the Mk3 Cortina forward. Ford then gave all the remaining bodyshells to the Rootes group as a final settlement, there were so many that they were used up for many years after as the Paykan Hunter

If you remove the plastic trim and arches from a new Defender, every panel is identical to the 1959 S2, in fact even Series 1 panels are the same but are made of thicker aluminium from Lancaster bombers.

When Winston Churchill first drew the plans ,for what became the Land Rover, on the sand at his ancestral home Runnymede ,he intended to use captured Messerschmitt skins but he Solihull workforce wouldn't work with it as they thought it was cursed and in less than 50 years the Germans would return to take over.

In fact when Burnt Piestryder turned up in 1994 it was in a 7 Series with a bodyshell hand formed from the remains of the Heinkel bomber that destroyed Coventry Cathedral.

Citroen suspension was designed by Rolls Royce (a lot of people tell me this when they see my DS). I tend to agree with them and give them as much mis-information as my fertile imagination can come up with in our ongoing conversation.

Colonel Gadaffi had the worlds largest collection of Mini Mokes.

Due to his love of them he commissioned a Maxi Moke (based on an Austin Maxi of course) but it was never a success.

The Citroen BX 4TC rally car wasn't a failure in any way; but the other manufacturers complained to the FIA that the hydro-pneumatic suspension would make their cars crap in comparison and that they would all leave group B rallying if the Citroen wasn't banned.

Ironic that we see so much of Bernie Fineman and Mario Pacione bickering like a married couple as they sealed the knot in 2014 at the Barry Island Sports & Social Club.

Not many know that Bernie is a classically trained pianist who performs regularly with the Berlin Philharmoniker. His favorite work is Beethovens Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major.

Tony Robinson, vocal and proud socialist actually hides a rather large skeleton in his closet. He was instrumental in the close down of Merseyside Speke plant. In an unbroadcast interview for BBC North-West he confirmed "I was so sick of those lazy cunts always being on strike and fucking up quality control on my favorite 4 on the floor TR7 that i conspired to have my new car, the Acclaim, build at Canley. The plan backfired somewhat when production moved to Cowley and this betrayal was enough for me to fall out of love with my lifelong love of Triumph products forever. My patronage moved to and remains to this day with Renault."

The tinted glass on small BMWs and MINIs has an unfortunate fault in that it lets in too much uv light, slowly turning the occupants orange. BMW are aware of this but so far have not been sued as most of the drivers seem happy with the arrangement.
