It sounds like it’s ended up in Fakenham, about 25 mins from me. Will keep an eye out for it!

Saw GVG the Sierra being trailered down the A1 on the 25th; which was a nice X-mas Afternoon scene.

Wow just caught up with all this ( that oven ppm can wait, it's nights 🤭🤭🤭) as I hadn't realised it had disappeared around about page 180 as I was on page 103 and did wonder what had happened😭😭😭.

Still all back now and wow what an amazing business you've built up @RetroShite, I'm so chuffed for you. You're clearly a massive car guy and how you find them all I'll never know. Fantastic news.

Meant to say as well do you ever do commission work for people?

ie raffle the car for them through your site and you agree on a minimum price then you take the rest or is your method simply to sell it for wherever it ends, like eBay was years ago?

If you did do that I'd imagine you'd get a decent amount of punters but also a load of hassle as well, probably better off sticking to what you know.

Have you ever lost on a car since you started the raffles?

I'd be surprised but you never know.

Good luck for the future and looking forward to the updates.

Congratulations, Scott.  Wishing you continued success for 2026.

(Ps - do all your photo shoots in there, like an ANTI-KGF CLASSICS)

All vehicles on Retroshite are bought and paid for, it makes for a much simpler process as doing anything on commission would just over complicate things.

There's more to it than multiplying the amount of tickets sold by the ticket price. A lot of people looking at that calculation thinking I'm making a lot more than I am.

There's a small percentage on each transaction taken by the payment gateway and the website developer which all adds up over the course of a month.

I'm spending thousands a week on advertising plus there's the additional cost of collection and delivery I'm swallowing when offering free delivery.

I usually break even or lose money on trials bikes as they are a bit of a niche market but everything else seems to do fine.

The base Sierra certainly lost money, condition and presentability matters and really I paid to much for it but I set the ticket price a little higher than normal in hopes that a genuine enthusiast would enter for it and I'd say it was a success in getting it into the right hands.

I could've had lower ticket prices and made more money but that might have increased the chances of it falling into the wrong hands.

People do approach me on a regular basis asking me to raffle their car on commission but when I tell them the way it runs it puts them off.

Set a date and let the vehicle go on that date regardless of ticket sales. If it sells 3, 300 or 3000 tickets it still goes to the winner with free delivery included.

You also have to give me the vehicle so there won't be a chance to withhold it if it fails to capture the imagination of people.

These terms are usually enough without adding all of the additional costs to put people off asking for commission, its much easier that I buy the vehicle for an agreed price then it's mine to do as I please with.

The whole point in doing any of this was so I could dick around with cars and not have to get a real job.

All of the skills I've honed from arguing with people online, taking photos of cars and trading I've managed to make into a somewhat unconventional job which for the most part I'm excited to do each day.

It's a consideration but it would be a right faff moving vehicles around inside. I'd need one of those car turntables.

We don't want cars lying about on site...

What's the plan for the space then?

We're going to put storage containers and a carpark on the free space.

Handy...

This is a tidy old thing, it's been away having some work done, new diff seals, fuel pump rebuilt. It unbelievably starts first turn of the key and goes quite well with the 2.5 Di and 5 speed gearbox.
