RetroShite Posted March 9 Posted March 9 More pics of stuff! My Subaru Impreza estate is currently out on loan. I'd hoped to eventually replace it with the legacy but I just don't like it all that much so provided the Impreza comes back in one piece I'll probably keep it for a little longer. It's a great winter car. I think with the Legacy, it's just too nice especially with 30k miles on the clock. I've got most of these on the site, just the Corrado I'm figuring out what to do with. Erebus, yes oui si, davehedgehog31 and 3 others 6
yes oui si Posted March 10 Posted March 10 A four cylinder Corrado is such a sweet-handling car, it'd be interesting to see how the 20v lump affects that.

I don't think they're that much heavier, as far as I'm aware the block is very similar to what would have been in there, so you've only got the turbo and bigger cylinder head to take into account yes oui si 1

RetroShite Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I haven't driven a standard Corrado so no idea how it compares. It's got a diesel gearbox fitted so gearing is quite long, allegedly it'll do 50mph in first gear. I got a look at the VW T2 today, it's not actually that bad to drive. 2.0 fuel injection engine. Rustybullethole Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Looks a good honest vehicle that t2. A good combo of colour and not fucked about with. Dan302, Stinkwheel, yes oui si and 1 other 1 3

catsinthewelder Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Could be, we mostly just got the 1.6 type one engine here but the Yanks tended to get the rather better type 4 engine. Presumably this ones from California to have efi. I never found the LHD to be much of an issue on mine as you don't do a lot of overtaking.
colino Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I would have thought with a diesel box it would have run out of breath really quickly in first?Â
Volksy Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Later T2's got the Type 4 engine - even over here. My old Westfalia (1973) had the 1.7 T4 with twin carbs. they went to 1.8 and 2.0 in later years.  yes oui si 1

RetroShite Posted March 11 Posted March 11 It's a barn find Renault 18 GTL! Picked this up today after enquiring about it over a year ago. When I first saw it, it was under a hoarders pile of stuff and I could barely see it. Now with it seeing light of day for the first time in 20 years I'm wondering what I've got myself into! loserone Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Your stock is on fire at the moment Scott. I'm having to be very restrained to not throw lots of money at them! yes oui si 1

Fancied a project did ya? For some reason this reminded me of your chevette of much welding. Have you still got that?Â

RetroShite Posted March 12 Posted March 12 A jump pack and some easy start and it fired up. It's actually quite smooth to drive. JMotor, Dan302, yes oui si and 11 others 14
yes oui si Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I thought 18s were 4x100 like Fuegos are... Are earlier ones 3x150 like 15/17s?

garbaldy Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Had a few 18s back in the day and have to say that 1400 engine can take some punishment no wonder it fired up so easy, this is one car I'll certainly have tickets for if it goes that way 😉 500tops 1
RetroShite Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Picked up a pair of these ex French army 80cc Peugeots today. Scruffy Bodger, Rustybullethole, Coprolalia and 12 others 15
loserone Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Ooh I was looking at those. What's the plan for the parts bike, register it?

RetroShite Posted March 15 Posted March 15 An E21 BMW has been on the list for a while. Pity it's just a 316. Tickman, Stinkwheel, Zie and 7 others 10
RetroShite Posted March 17 Posted March 17 With the arrival of the E21 I'm considering whether to let this one go or not! It's on 23k miles and had been sat in a garage since 1996 until last year. Probably the nicest driving and rust free Lada I've driven and I probably won't find another like this but can't keep them all. yes oui si, Tickman, Coprolalia and 9 others 12
