RoverFolkUs Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Haven't seen one of those L200s for many, many years. A very rare sight on today's roads
RetroShite Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Tonight's shite! Both going tonight at 9pm, Chevette is quite a popular one, L200 not so much... Next week's will be the Trabant, Discovery and DR125. Bikes are always a hard sell, I predict I'll be losing money on this one. sdkrc 1
sdkrc Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Loving the branding and design. Quality curation of shite as always

Woman who gifted it to me was a complete milf. Mine had the metal bumpers though. If it had they plastic ones the mot tester would have missed the galloping rust that would have been hiding underneath Mmm-hmm

RetroShite Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Not bad for a C reg maestro... Saabnut, rob88h, Split_Pin and 11 others 14
RetroShite Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Maestro van went in for a pre mot check yesterday, results weren't the worst with it requiring a brake line, front pads and a front strut. I've been getting annoyed with the little Nissan Cabstar truck recently so stuck it up for sale yesterday, I find it's a little bit cramped inside and feels like a slightly larger Bedford Rascal. Long journeys hurt my feet and knees. The bed seems a bit steep and everything is just a little bit awkward. The only good thing about it is it's short and easy to manoeuvre. I had a few enquiries about it with one guy seeming very keen to buy it this morning and another offering a part exchange with me adding cash for his NV400. The person this morning didn't turn up so a part ex was arranged. Relatively low mileage, seems to be in reasonable condition and has a rather nice and large alloy bed. It's certainly longer than the other truck. It seems comfortable to drive too. Split_Pin, Tickman, Cookiesouwest and 6 others 9
jonathan_dyane Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 When I used to do agency work for NDS on Tyne Dock we used to refer to the Cabstars as the 'boneshakers'. There was one particularly terrible vessel (possibly the MV Autoroute) that had a long steep ramp which narrowed towards the top. The only way to get the chassis cab Cabstars up it was to drive to the end of the pontoon then reverse up at the ramp foot to the floor in reverse with the wheels spinning and the axle tramp shuffling the awful contraption all over the shop. Somehow both fun and harrowing at the same time... RetroShite 1
RetroShite Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Picked up another shite van, a Nissan nv200. Perfect little bike hauler. grogee, outlaw118, Saabnut and 1 other 4

RetroShite Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 With more cars arriving every day I've run out of time with this one so it's been offered up at £2.50 a go with a £150 cash alternative but if you take the cash it's being weighed in. It's one of those ones that the "it must be saved" brigade can try to actually save it for very little outlay. As expected loads of people have bought multiple entries and I wouldn't be surprised if it made over £2k at this rate! puddlethumper, JMotor, Coprolalia and 1 other 4
RetroShite Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Picked up the Allegro on Monday, It's not actually that bad. It seems to run OK and isn't actually that rusty. I'm going to do the welding repairs first but I think Ged has taken a liking to it so he will probably end up buying it rather than going for a giveaway much to the disappointment of a few people probably... LightBulbFun, Tickman, Shep Shepherd and 4 others 7
JMotor Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Good that people are putting their hands in pockets and having a punt. Had considered entering that roffle too. But have enough misery with the one I already have. Allegro looks a good base for a rolling resto once it's been fettled up.
RetroShite Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Is this what happens when overdrive is engaged? CGSB, rob88h, rainagain and 6 others 4 5
Christine Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 That's a good way to take off .. if you slip or ride the clutch you'll only wear out the crank thrust bearing on those engines ...
Boycie Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 Err if you were to stumble across a Capri ....

I can't remember if it was a Minidisc unit but a Sony single-DIN something was 'standard' fit for these in the UK. Possibly minidisc + CD changer somewhere? Almost certainly dock fit or dealer fit though, rather that actually stuffed in during Korea manufacture.
