Am I mad for saving this R14 ?

Yes, you are mad, but a legend? Yes.

I doubt anything is too far gone if you have the money, enthusiasm and spare sanity.

Good luck, I can't wait to see the resto thread :)

I got quite excited thinking this was an update on it.

Talking of Renault 14's my old one is back on the road with another new owner. This guy is a Renault fan so hopefully it will be loved now. I think it is still over in the south east so will hopefully be spotted at some point. The one that was the subject of this thread though is probably long dead as it really was shagged.

I expect it to have broken into many bits as it was moved but then I see some of the FSO threads we used to get on here and I am always willing to be surprised.

Not sure it has made it out of Norn Iron yet?

He was probably too embarrased to admit the horrible truth!

To be fair, sometime bumping a thread lands a message in the OPs inbox, and motivates them to provide an update, but sorry if it provided false hope to y'all

Digging around the Web finds that it did eventually move out from its resting place and on to a Trailer.....post-20412-0-67712700-1477331104_thumb.jpg

However looking further in to his Flickr stream reveals he also he been busy picking up.....yep..yet another Rancho to add to the remaining UK tally!post-20412-0-04116400-1477331287_thumb.jpg

I can't believe just how many Ranchos are appearing from the glassfibrework.

That Rancho appears to be on the back of 'Cyanide Steve's' trailer/Iveco camper combination...

Steve and Richie share a unit, so I imagine Steve got roped in to help!

Hi Guys ,

I rarely go on autoshite tbh as I always see cars for sale and sometimes it's easier not to see things I want .

I am a bit like an alcoholic avoiding pubs to prevent falling off the wagon .

Right the R14 was saved and is still being baby sat for me until we go and collect it .

Yep it's pretty bad as expected but I wasn't expecting anything different.

I bought the rancho last year and I'm hoping to source some parts first before restoration can start and the funds too.

That's pretty much all I have to report about these 2

Cheers

Richie .

I got a sniff of a very late 'X' reg R14 last year but it had sold before I had the chance. Fairly solid too. I wonder what became of it.

I still want to know what happened to Mr Regie Ritmo and his vehicles (I believe his R14 was ex-Mouseflakes?).

Is that 14 still in norn iron?!!

Regime Ritmo is still out there on Facebook.

Seems loved up, recently engaged, and living north of the river.

I'm guessing the 14 & Ritmo are quietly decaying in a Bognor Lockup someplace.

All this R14 talk reminds me that this genuine UK R14 TS with 19000 miles turned up on the Renault Club FB page last night, apparently its a major restoration project though.

That white one looks great, I wonder what it wants doing? Those lovely squidgy orange seats look amazing (and are super comfortable)

Most of these things were a major restoration project at six years old.

I assume this was a pie-in-the-sky resto, and it never happened?
