Does anyone have a gazebo? I'll buy a cheap one if I have to. I've a feeling we won't be so lucky with the weather this time.

As previously stated, myself and cms206 will be 760 Turboing the fuck out of it. On the note above of another 760 attending due to Escort suspension rebuilding, mines is going for major fettling tomorrow at Mr Ron Sealey Volvo specialist in Cowdenbeath. Mainly front suspension. So the NS wheel/hub stays...emm...attached.

Hopefully he does what he says on the tin. There...I said it! Just so noone else has to.

My 760 is in next week at a local garage too with some sort of similar issue due to lack of time on my part. OSF wheel getting hot and wheelbearing grumbling when loaded up on corners; the brakes don't seem to be binding- I treated it to new discs and pads not that long ago and the caliper sliders/ pots were ok. We will see.....

If April was anything to go by, I think you're right Richard.  I'm happy to lob you a few quid if it helps.

Not even looked at it mechanically yet; it runs okay, albeit mega rich, when it's warm though even at that with a heavy foot the boost gauge goes off the end of the scale and it cuts the fuel. Fuel filter could probably be doing with changing too, though I'm sure Jonathan said he did an oil and filter (bar fuel) change. Needta sort out an idle control valve too.

The ICV is easy enough to change with the one we obtained from the saloon - 2 hose clips and a plug. Air flow meter is merely the top lid of the air cleaner box (and a plug).

320, it's a flappy paddle air flow meter on these with Motronic EFI so it's quite basic. Also the boost was on the checklist of things to do when I dropped mine off at the Volvo whisperer today. Incidentally do you know anything about adjustment of the wastegate? Mr Sealey says the turbos on these are not adjustable. Hopefully it's just a split hose somewhere letting out all the boosts.

Ob the moronic(sic) afm on the e30s you can unplug them to see if it runs better.may have been messed with to sort idle issue at somepoint in the past?

Re boost i have no ideas-although vac and other pipe check is a plan. By sounds of it you cant adjust the wastegate opening if it is fixed?

If adjustable on that era of turbo its likely a threaded bar with a locknut that controls the pressure requied to open it

All the Volvo references online say it should be adjustable. I'll wait to see what comes back from the Volvo man. I can't remember but I'm sure it did have the threaded bar on it for adjusting the wastegate.

I'll try to remember to chuck mine in the back.

I'm thinking about joining y'all on Saturday morning and heading back Sunday afternoon...

Was it bucketteer I am collecting a tent from? I have a bad memory! Any news on a convoy yet?

Do you get to drive all the other cars at a shitefest?

Fine by me. I don't mind.

Don't mind me, I've been feeling particularly grumpy today.

Well, if a Rover P4 and Standard Pennant are going to be there, it's only right that I make an appearance in the Somerset, I should have it back by then. Only thing is it's already been to Wales this year.

Or I could bring the Maestro. I have a trailer tent, but all my cars have towbars so even that doesn't help me decide what to bring!

The Victor will be in the bodyshop then, and anyway I don't think my wallet could stand driving it 230 odd miles each way.

Some people make their cars available and some don't.

Last year the thought of explaining to Mrs Cyl how her Cadillac got bent was enough to make me shy from that fun but this year I am bring my own Citroen Visa so I will be game!

damn, my 12v air pump doesn't have an adapter to pump to the air bed up...

May have to bring a second duvet to go under me on the reclined front seat...

General consensus last year was that pretty much anything in the car park that was left open was game. A quick nod to the owner first of course.

Due to receiving a nice little sum of compo for a balance transfer fuck up from Barclaycard, I have been able to hire an appropriate vehicle for this years Shitefest. It's Italian and I hope the sun is shining as it is a floppy top. It's not a current model, which will be a first for me at a Shitefest, but it is not a 'bonafide' classic either (yet).

Unfortunately, due to the pesky minor legal matter of it not being mine, it won't be available for driving :( .

And no, it's not a Punto Cabrio, but I did see a very smart silver T plater in Sainsburys car park on Saturday, which surprised me as I have only ever sent them in yellow! Surely the cheapest way into a Italian Cabrio bar perhaps a terminally rotten x/19 with 3 weeks MoT left.

Shitefest preparations will commence tomorrow evening. I need to give the interior of the 760 a good clean out. I will be onto my local, family run motor factor in the morning to order all the service bits as well for piece of mind, so if they can get them in for tomorrow I will do that as well!

Well, the P4s Dynamo has been sent away for rebuild and a new control box has been bought so that should help the charging issue out. I thing the oil pressure sender is leaking so I won't need to replace the crank seal, I hope. All should be good for shitefest!

I'll probably be in the unwashed BX then.

I go away next week, I'll have to do my prep on bank holiday Monday!

The knocking sound on my car actually sounds like its coming from the front, not the rear... Will listen to it some more and count it as prep...

I wanna at least hoover her out, its like an ashtray in there...and there's a dc11 on the back seat...

On the driving each other's cars thing, I was a little alarmed at the pace demonstrated by some. Please take it fairly easy as it is someone else's car, and the 'test hill' can be dangerous. In fact, someone was killed on that stretch at Easter after going off the road. It's quite a drop.

Better than a dc10;)

The turbo is currently away in Fifeland being fettled by a Volvo specialist. No time of my own to do said fettlings before the fest. Hopefully when I get it back the NSF wheel will be correctly attatched to the car and the turbo will have had more life coaxed out of it.

Still waiting for the bodyshop to finish the Stellar...am really hoping for some progress as even once they're finished I have to assemble everything again, plus get the rear window fitted.

This is how it looked last time I saw it last week - I'm going to pop round tomorrow so should know more then.
