Looking at that last pic

I'd be looking at a sh bonnet

Aye, good luck finding one of those at sensible money!  Normally if an E3 gets scrapped it's due to terminal rot in every panel...

I think harrods have them next to the unicorn saddles.

I went to a small car Gathering in Milton Keynes this evening. I took my Seicento as it was raining when I left home and found a friend to pose with!

My Seicento was out again today for a 100 mile run out with the Milton Keynes Modern Classic cars. A great day with no problems unlike one of the "Fix Or Repair Daily's"!

Not really an Autoshite car but I enjoyed a trip out this evening in the Range Rover. It was to a BMW Club night, but neither of our BMWs work!

First world problems:
When you take a JLR product because the premium German ones are non functional

Funky architecture, where was it held ?

The Aviator Hotel, Sywell Airfield, Northampton.

A great venue for a car club with added flying aeroplanes in the summer including a Spitfire based there.

I got my C reg Visa 17RD back today with a fresh MOT, just in time to put it away for the winter!

It needed a brake master cylinder, brake compensator and rear wheel cylinders. I had a couple of small rust holes that were cut out and new metal welded in.  It also had an aux belt.

I had a 17RD as a company car back in 1986-87. We had three on the company fleet, which meant a few races took place. With a bit of determined slipstreaming, and a favourable gradient, we used to get the speedo needles to point directly downwards. Also to improve grip we stuck 165 section tyres on the front. Those engines were indestructible.

No pictures... didn't happen!

.... How fast  ... Asking on behalf of those of us that have never been in one ....

120 kph is a nice cruising speed, fine at 130 kph if you are in a hurry. If in Germany and cars trying to get in front of the old slow car hold you up I will hold it flat out at about 150 kph. I feel confident the engine can take it, after all 50k delivery drivers in C15 vans can't be wrong!

I think the speedo went up to 90, so an indicated 100. Actual speed could be anywhere between 80 and 95 as there were not known for the accuracy back then.

PS Couldn't take a pic then as my mobile hadn't been invented back then.

It is common for the needle to curl up with heat and age and then would not they would not exceed 50 mph!

Speedo must have gone to 100 as it was the same reg as yours, so an indicated 110. Could have been the C15 van that had a 90 speedo.

Our C15 which is a 2000 (W) has the 100mph marking and room to go a bit further.

Even our 652cc Special has a 100 mph Speedo

100mph would be 7,350 rpm!

Today the 230TE was put to work!

A local window company has some pallet wood to give away. The good bit is some of the spars that hold the windows in a lorry are screwed together and therefore much easier to recover the timber for my shelves than breaking up regular nailed pallets.

I collected my MGB GT today from service and rear brake overhaul.

As some of you may know the brakes were strange, sometimes there was normal brake travel other times none. It turned out to be a rear brake adjuster had seized and jumped in and out of place. Also the hand brake was not working. All done now including a replacement wheel cylinder as one was weeping.

I reported the ns headlight was dim and that turned out to be a corroded scotchlock.

Also the instrument lights sometimes didn't work, that turned out to be the headlight switch. They did not have one and left that to me to order.

So nice to have a car that's fixable without chasing error codes, sensors, ECUs and software updates!

That fault does indeed make sense given the symptoms.  Glad they were able to get to the bottom of it.

Couple more photos from the BL Day (120 film)/previous FoD days (110) as the films are now all back.  In no particular order as I'm busy packing for our return trip home tomorrow.
