Next job was to start the 1 ton dumper at the FoD as we may have a job for it and it has always been difficult to start. No amount of towing it would bring it to life, it made dumper like noises but no smoke. I have booked an agricultural engineer to come look at it but he can't come for 2 weeks. clearly the problem is your missing a @Slowsilver its well known to start FoD machinery you need a @Slowsilver installed in the operators seat Mrs6C, chaseracer, wuvvum and 3 others 3 3
Andyrew Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Looks like there is in the picture but is there Enough room to get a cold chisel or a punch it to tap the nut round?

The chisel may work, but the the plan is to clean and refit it at this stage so it would be better if we could spanner it out.
Six-cylinder Posted July 6, 2020 Author Posted July 6, 2020 In my dreams where teams race to fix cars and use them to collect fish and chips, I pity the team who gets this one! Fumbler, Coprolalia, DoctorRetro and 4 others 7
quicksilver Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Blimey, the Gamma seems to have gone downhill rather a lot since it was last used for fetching fish and chips It's even changed colour. Six-cylinder 1

wuvvum Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Shame it's not 2023 yet - it'd be MOT exempt then and you wouldn't have to worry about any of that. richardmorris, Six-cylinder and Christine 3

Zelandeth Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 They do like to rust don't they! I assume replacement panel availability is slim to non-existant?

Six-cylinder Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 Before somebody sends the padded van to save me from self harming by restoring this Gamma it is not mine. It belongs to the Gamma Consortium (club) and their plan is to take it apart and recover the parts for sale to members. The Club has a active spares section who buy/ recover/store parts and have some parts remade including the "L" cloth seat material for later Gammas. The Gamma consortium have been fantastic with me finding me parts to put my own Gamma back on the road. The club is grateful that I have given it somewhere to rest temporally as it was going to the crusher because it was parked on a property that had been returned to the landlord. Strange thing is I just like seeing it in my field! worldofceri, HMC, LightBulbFun and 6 others 9

beko1987 Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Ha, that disclok. I guess these are the downsides of having running, driving, starting first time cars on the FoD... Six-cylinder 1
HMC Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Wow that windscreen is almost a structural component of the A-pillar.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Its really tragic to see a Gamma Berlina looking like that. I wish I had the time to come and hit it up with my welder!!!! (and bust the windscreen no doubt) Six-cylinder, hairnet, Mrs6C and 1 other 4
kirton Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 HI Chris is there space for another one? If so would you pm directions to the FoD please. I have leave of absence approved and the weather looks quite good from Friday on I'll be up in the camper van so that has a cooker available for use. I'm deemed old and vulnerable so will be sensible but not paranaoid about being in company. I'll put in a selection of tools and my brand new Ring 900 100psi tyre pump; it's fast and got a van tyre from 35psi to 80 pretty quickly, but with a 23amp draw I wouldn't use it without the engine running. Has any one a use for a crv 15" wheel with a reasonable but old Dueller tyre? wuvvum, Mrs6C, beko1987 and 1 other 4

Six-cylinder Posted July 7, 2020 Author Posted July 7, 2020 Why would a man with 30 broken cars buy another broken one! It has arrived for just in time for our FoD open weekend and is maybe one that can be fixed to collect fish and chips! chaseracer, Craig the Princess, mat_the_cat and 2 others 5
Mr_Bo11ox Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 I seriously had to stare at that Biturbo picture and rack my brains to decide if I was looking at mine or yours there. Sadly your garage looks much better than mine and that was the clincher Coprolalia and Six-cylinder 2

This photo is Nov 2019 when I had it out to MOT it so it could be used on the first nice day in 2020, instead we got lockdown!
