How long has it been since you last bought a car?

For myself it has been three long years & I am starting to get serious itchy bidding finger when viewing the ebay tat thread. I used to be buying £100 random crocks off ebay with Tax & Mot & just getting a train to the middle of nowhere to collect them & it was great fun.

So who has the shortest mean time between car purchases on the forum? I need to up my game & get out there buying random chod again!

I've bought four so far this year, last one a month ago. I just worked out that I've averaged a car purchase every 1.4 months ever since I passed my test.

Bought 2 last week an mx5 and a heap of a scenic. The scenic is scrap but I will keep the mx5 for the summer

The Acclaim back in August last year. I have really itchy fingers again at the moment.

7 nearly 8, months since i got the Visa which is good going for me. Lack of space is stopping me buying more shite while i actually sort my other shite to make room for new shite.

Er.... just over two years ago and it never became my daily driver, I just punted it on.

I'm very likely Autoshite's most proficient underachiever.

Interesting. If you mean handing over cash for a car, that'll be sometime in 2012 when I bought the D-reg Rover 820E. Not long after I received a free 1997 Rover Sterling which became my daily driver until just before I moved abroad.

I did bid on a couple of Rover Sterlings located back in the UK whilst here in Le France but both cars were missed out on selling for good prices.

Always a year. Always need a change of car on a yearly basis which is why I have two at any one time. One to be sensible and keep using and one I can get bored of and keep changing.

I must try harder.  The last time I bought a new (to me) car was March 2010.

On the plus side, aside from my brother-in-law's Fabia I sold through this very forum last month, I also haven't had to sell a car for four years either.

I have had 6 since getting back in the country last August. Latest was Gadgetpriceys Saab a couple of weeks ago.

Should be getting the triumph delivered Friday so that then will be my latest

Well let's see... Since returning to Blighty, the first car I bought was the distress-purchase 406.  (You'll need fingers now for counting...)  4 months later, Blazer and Cherry, in a double whammy, and just to ice the cake, moved the 406 on in the same day.  A mere 2 months elapsed before I traded the Blazer for the Tacuma.  Along with the Cherry, we were served pretty well for a few months, until Rawy kept dropping the price of his Volvo estate and I picked it up in November.  Within a month I'd moved the Cherry on to Micrashed, so a nice wafty winter was had.  Then spring arrived, and with it the itch for another classic of some sort.  So RML bought the Volvo and took it to their natural home, and I swooped on an ebay MR2.  That was March.  I've already come scarily close to buying something else, a story I haven't told here yet.  I'm expecting the next change to take place around September/October (twice a year will do), but you can't entirely plan this stuff, can you?

Erm, about two weeks ago I think, possibly less.

I bought a 1993 Toyota Starlet at circa 7pm this evening. In the time it took the vendor to fetch the logbook from his house (or the time it takes the board to revolve, whichever's the shorter) my pal, who'd come for a jaunt out with us, had bought the car off me.

Easy come, easy go.

About 3-4 years now which is poo. I have no where to store anything else but the killer was I work stupid shifts and never, never have enough time

Last car I bought was the Cowley, that was 3 years ago but  I have only just  started using it....I could have  bought another car each year since with what I have spent on it.

Sunday,  and I've only had the Disco a couple of months.

I've averaged just over 1 a year and am at an all time high of 4 cars registered here.

An hour and a half :-)

That's the first this year though.

I had no new cars for almost 9 years then got 2 in the last 2 months. One to keep long term and one that will be turned over within 12 months.

Sept last year when bought a tidy polio diesel as a daily, I've spent the last couple of months looking for a useless  and extravagant BMW 750i or possibly a Merc S class to add to the fleet which also has a sporty toy at the mo.

A couple of months - the only fleet change this year. That feels a bit odd. At the moment, I really can't be arsed to change anything either, though Richard's Volvo 850 has been testing my resistance a bit I must admit, and I found myself scouring Ebay today for the first time in weeks.

Too long - I'd really like to try a 740 estate, but I can't see the planets aligning to open up a Volvo-shaped space in my life. :-(

Also too long. last purchase was the 940 back in January, but getting serious wantage for a Triumph stag. (yes, I know about the EVERYTHING that goes wrong).

Lack of storage means it's strictly one in one out and I don't want to sell my P6 yet.

About 15 months ago. Bought a subaru mv pick up. Prior to that my L300 van just over 2 years ago.

Getting serious itchy bidding figure syndrome so can

see me buying some shite or other soon.

I'm really slacking and have had my current couple of cars 2 and 4 years but before that I've normally got rid of my cars due to boredom once a year but always keep two motors knocking about.

But to my defence I nearly bought another old banger last weekend but I really don't have the room...

For some reason I fancy a cheap A class Merc even though I know that there complete crap and unreliable and the last decent Merc was built circa 1994.

Completely the wrong spec as 2l petrol, but cheap and may be a low mileage minter (except for the box)
