Chassis Number 458. Generail Inauria's  (Head of the KGB in Georgia) personal car.

Back streets of Tiblisi.

What could possibly go wrong?

FUGGIN' A!

Good luck - I assume you're not negotiating directly with the Georgian KGB?

Early days -still sounding each other out.

I've got a reasonable description ,and a good understanding of why its for sale (-albeit with a wildly optimistic price).

My concern was the issue of getting it home; but I've established that I can container it to the UK -probably a load cheaper than driving it back, which seemed the only viable option until yesterday.

So, it may happen. Its going to take a while -but its a definite maybe right now.

I'll play the long game. I doubt I'll have much competition, unless Putin decides Georgia is next on the agenda!

You are winnar of bestestest idea for car acquisition mission 2014

Sinister car and sinister sounding acquisition mission, just how it should be for this kind of car.

Autoshite level: Biblical.

That is awsome and absolutely must come to these shores!

Whats the spec on it? It must have a monsterous engine!

Sweet! Proper car!

Is it bullet proof or anything? Im sure some of these type of commie barges had gun slots and filtration systems built into them.

Wow, that is seriously impressive. How sure are you of the cars provenance?

Details still thin -gut feeling is that the seller is hiding something.

Bulletproof -dunno, but if he can prove it was that General's - quite likely.

Provenance?  Told he holds a Reg Doc -but I'm investigating if that proves ownership.

Seems I can get it containered for around £750 (plus all the usual loading costs etc) -so I think an escrow payment is needed here.

Time will tell -I guess.

That clang you just heard was my jaw bouncing off the floor.  Marvellous.  Seriously marvellous.

a) a former keeper [wash and polish geek]

b.) a former informant on the sovietski

c) the guy who currently owns it, but his wife doesn't like him doing them in the Bogg   ;)

That's the Iron Curtain equivalent of finding one of Elvis's Fleetwoods in the lube bay of a long-forgotten Memphis gas-and-go.

As such I am extremely impressed!

That'll be quite an A-frame mission. Astonishing.

Will you tow it back with the Barkas or the ZAZ, Nige?

:D

This has "Autoshite - The Movie" written all over it, with Nicholas Cage playing Nigel Bickle and Vinnie Jones playing Mikeski Brewervich with a cod Russian accent. I'd pay to see it.

OMG! I think Autoshite has just been won permanently.

Very very well done sir. I hope the purchase and transport goes smoothly.

And about 85 bhp no doubt...

That's actually not a bad looking motor by Eastern Bloc standards.  Could be the bastard offspring of a mid-'70s Cadillac and a Tatra 613.  Good luck with the negotiations - would be great to see the sinister beast on these shores.
