Actually - values of these are going the way of RWD Escorts; a super-solid rust-free example is worth many hundreds to the Retro Zetec RS Turbo nutter crew so as to get the rollcage/buckets/enormous intercooler strapped under the bumper treatment and possibly a nice bit of V5 naughtiness with an XR2 ID.

Arguably worth more as a stripped shell with all the usual rot points clearly visible though. I've not long offloaded an effectively identical example with a 5-speed box, 12-mile-old clutch and fewer years out of MOT  for £150, and that had exactly the same corrosion that this one appears to have - give it a couple more months and that wheelarch will be on the floor.

I'll have the faglighter and ashtray for my XR2 please. :)

Needs lowering a bit though Fred........................................[waits for howl of rage!]

I like it,but thought one that age would have a Pinto?

Er, as the pinto is an inline engine, and the V4 an er V engine, there would be nowhere to put a pinto with the flat front. The pinto came in with the Mk2, in 1978.

My mistake,I was thinking of the last cars to use the V4,the early Granadas & Capris. They must of changed over to the Pinto in about 1972?

Pretty sure this had an Essex not a pinto. Had to beat it mercillesly with a hammer often enough to get it to play. I will of course be corrected as i thought for years my 1100 fiesta had a Kent engine, nly to find out it was in fact a Vallencia. :?

Not ebay, Autotrader this time. You would have thought after hopefully asking £1000 for what probably must be the most undesirable car for sale in the UK at this moment in time, he might have invested a few minutes cleaning the front seats; it looks like someone's crapped in them.

But it has a second key? Warranted mileage! And the Reg plate suits it SO well!!!!!!

They do specialise in overpriced tat - maybe they were invented just for this thread - nearly £2k for a 1997 Volvo V40 estate with no mileage given and faded red paint  ?

This Imp Van is well smart.

But £12,000 start (reserve not met) is a might keen, especially when it's on the other side of the world...

its all part of the"worth loads in the UK mate' without it being there syndrome!..he could at least arrange the shipping at that cost.

What is it with people selling shitty car badges at the moment?

Here's a nice one - only a tenner, nice condition apparently. Actually, hang on - no; it's shagged.

Hell, I'd hesitate to ask ten quid each for the decent ones I took OFF my car to swap with new ones I happened to get otherwise I would have left them on. Has the taking of drugs increased in eBay land recently?

What a shitter. Shiny on the outside but it's a bitsa with a crappy interior and a HIDEOUS stereo stuffed into the dash, for that kind of money you would want something flawless inside and out.

HOW MUCH?

Approaching 300k and the dealer can't even be bothered to take the rubbish out for the pictures. It does say there will be better pics after it's had a valet but surely he could have at least taken the toilet mat out of the boot.

Does the optimistically priced Volvo come with a warranty, the seller doesn't specify.

No but I'm sure he would 'sell' (i.e. shaft you royally) you one - only £300 or so for a worthless piece of paper that probably has a maximum claim limit of £250, that is, if they ever actually paid anything out, which naturally they won't.

MINT!

'Mint' obviously now also encompasses damaged wings and wheelarches covered in primer. Value at just four grand, especially with that quite horrible paint job, which is presumably an 'RS2000' look gone horribly wrong?
That's a shame because it's an early one and in that colour with steelies and chrome hubcaps it would have looked very pretty :(

And a worn drivers seat bolster at that low mileage?
