The dynamic* duo get their hands on an FSO in tonights offering.

Will we be seeing Cyanide Steve and co. at their world headquarters, when Mike makes his inevitable trip to a specialist supplier that he assumed would just be a two-bit gig operating from a shed?

:D

It's a FSO Syrena, I've never heard of that model before.

That's the one! Neither have I.

It's not really for me, tbh.

Bleurgh.

Sure that's not a K11 with a Moggy front end?

Oh those crazy Japs.

Reminds me of Columbo's Pug a bit

I like both. Roundish cars do it for me. But I cant do it to them. Because I cant afford to.

Side opening bonnet and weight saving all round.

True sports car.

Skoda Estelle?

True sports car.

Just like a Morgan.

Polish built. 2 stroke engine. Early ones had sucide doors. I think they were made until the early 80s? Never exported outside the Iron Curtain. Exceedingly rare in Poland and after years of neglect they are now/have now gained cult status and are being restored and cared for.

I'd love one.

No doubt Brewer's Droop's latest purchase will break down en route to Blighty because he didn't spot the knackered engine/gearbox/whatever.

He'll trailer it to Ed and then eff off for an hour until it's sorted out.

I hate fuckbook AND the telly and I dont even care what a hashtag is other  than I think I took one once and thought I saw a  Syrena.  Telly was good when Colombo was on it though....

I think these were built to share the front wings with a much larger car being made at the same time hence the rather odd proportions.

Did we have any (recent-ish) updates on the FSO garage the lads on here were setting up?

Posted

I've a Syrena.

Here- in West Sussex.

Intention is to have it roadworthy for the Spring..

Any pics? Did you bring it over from PL?

Here it is. Bought in Belgium, we finally collected it a couple of weeks back.

Cleaned most of the verdigris off, swopped the wheels out & attached A frame. Missing driveshaft meant a clonking UJ thrashing the chassis home- but no real worries.

Brakes, steering & suspension now in bits (all seized) before we try to fire up.

On the road in the spring -hopefully!

Sorry Nige, was a clumsy reference to Deals on wheels ;-)

I watched it last night and actually quite liked the look of the car. Wouldn't say no to one. Where's Mr. Glover when all this Polish stuff is being discussed?!!

I've come across this programme because there are clips of it on Youtube, but never seen it on telly (not really much of a television watcher and I didn't even know about that channel the programme is on). Does anyone know if they have any way of "catching up" like BBC Iplayer or 4 On Demand?

I just don't understand why they painted it. It already had a nice paint job in an original colour. I liked how the spare steering box arrived with the shaft cut off. It's good to see scrappies are feckless world wide.
