Yo bikeshitters,

Is it possible to get motorbike boots repaired?

The zip has broken on my trusty alpinestars and all the local cobblers have told me they can't help.

What size are you

RE: The boots, got them sorted at a place in Rochdale called Craven's shoe hospital (I think, my wife took them in for me.)

What size are you

In normal shoes I'm a 12 but boot sizes seem to vary, these are an Eu48 which is about 12.5-13, I did get some Sidi boots second hand that were Eu47 but they were too small.

RE: the Grom, I had a quick blezz on one that belonged to a guy I used to work with, well grin and don't seem as small once you're on it if that makes sense.

Nailing it everywhere full throttle reminded me of my pizza delivery moped days, if I tried it on the blade I would die within seconds.

It's a WOOD from me but I'll be waiting til I can get a slightly shit one for £500 spears or reapers, i.e in about 5 more years.

The old boy that works for me bought a brand new msx125 . Cool looking toy really . He was into monkey bikes so I suppose it made sense .

No good for me tho - would be like wearing a thong !

I'm 6foot2 and 16 or so stone, thought i would look and feel a twat on it but it manages not to feel like that.

Obviously you probably do look a twat to the general public but fucks given = 0.

Negotiations seem to be going well and price agreed upon.

Just waiting for him to email me back now.

Also negotiating the sale of the Bumflan - that might be an eP1c delivery thread rather than collection thread with me riding it 140 odd miles to the new owner then getting several trains back to Preston land.

Im 19 st and just under 6 foot  - also giver of few fooks

I'm constantly tormented with WANT for a Grom!  I think they're £99 down and then £70-odd a month.  I've really got no use for one as my commute is 70 miles and it's fast most of the way, but I REALLY REALLY WANT ONE.

Posted

womble i know where your grom is :D

need a lift??

is haggle hat firmly on?? :D

Grom gone a bit tits up due to funds malfunction. Feel bad for potentially pissing the seller about, I was happy with price & delivery.

Shame as I really want one, maybe in a month or two.

Stand by however for something altogether more shite coming this way soon(ish).

Woo

Finances sorted

Deposit for yellow grom paid.

Two buyers coming Monday to view bumflan one coming on the train.

Which is promising.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, have been reading and researching and the main killer for me is the cost of replacement parts, with my finances a small electrical fault would see me off the road,so I'm not sure I'm ready to join the 21st century yet

Mrs Frogchod picked up her new* bike today, a Monster, something she's been after for years.

Mrs Frogchod is very happy.

Her old bike is up for grabs, anyone after a French registered XJ600N ?

I've only ever one Ducati, a mates 1994 well used 916 (and this was only last summer). I really don't know why I've never owned a Duc (I have owned plenty of other Italian bikes though). My friendly mechanic keeps telling me to get a 600 Monster as they are "huge fun and not at all girly". The idea is growing on me each time I see one (and you're not helping!)..........

Posted

Years ago, I used to often threaten to buy one of the original (ie: nice-looking ones before they ruined them) 900 Monsters as I thought it'd be right up my street, I tried a couple, great fun for sure but couldn't commit to one due to extensive past experience with many Italian cars and their........ issues and expenses. So more of a problem with me than the bike I suspect.

I really liked my 1000 multistrada . Rattly old bastard of a thing

I need to get eight M7x1.0mm thread inserts to sort the leak on my GSX14, keep hearing of better ones than helicoils. What's the name again?

Seller gone quiet now, but has been hosting an art exhibition for the last few days.

I'll leave it another day before trying to email him again.

Not strictly shite, but bollocks to it! Picked up a hornet this weekend, first big bike since I passed on Thursday. Probably not as easy to strap all the camping gear on it as the CG I had before but at least it shouldn't take me 7 hours from Stourbridge to sodding lake vyrnwy!

Nice looking bike there.

I must admit that this thread has become a bit of an all encompassing bike thread including shite and non-shite, which is fine by me.

There was a separate thread called something like "Let's all embarrass each other with our mopeds" which is definitely 'more autoshite', but it dropped down the pages quite quickly where as this one seems to float near the surface.

Like that Hornet, get another 100k on it & it'll be properly AS spec ;)

Posted

Friend has one of the first - more than 110k on it from 98 to 04 then he bought a pan

Still has hornet - I've had 4 600s and two 900s

Posted

Sorry if I have posted these before but anyway here is my collection of non-shite bikes.

First up a Moto Guzzi T3. The first ever T3 in the UK and was the press bike for the importers and featured in lots of magazines and books by Mick Walker.

Next a Norton Commando 850

post-4025-0-11836700-1463059605_thumb.jpg

Triumph Bonneville T140D. Which breaks down with random problems nearly everytime I am out on it. So is most certainly shite.

And a Ducati 900ss that I gave up trying to attach a photo coz az fik.
