Then I made a fanny of myself infront of all the lads putting the bikes away for the night by stalling as I went to pull away back on my bike. Twat :D

If you want embarrassing try stalling it as you leave a busy bike night at a pub & dropping your bike in the middle of the road. I've never picked my bike up as quick....then I never went back on the same bike lol

I’m on an adventure.

Can anyone recommend an iPhone app that lets you navigate avoiding motorways and dual carriageways, prioritising B roads? Google maps only avoids motorways which takes you down endless dual carriageways...

I can highly recommend a day with the British Superbike School at Blyon in Lincolnshire. It's a trackday, but not really a trackday. three students to one instructor, no more that 12 bikes on the 1.6 mile circuit at a time. Instructors are brilliant, interested in getting you understand what your bike can do, and how you can ride better. Mixture of racers (some well known) and ACU race instructors, and they know how to instruct, not just how to ride around in front of you like some track day "Instructors" I've had with other track day com[anies.

To illustrate, there was a young woman there on a 900 Ducati Monster. Lived in London, worked in London, had commuted all year round to and from work. But had never encountered a bend before, which, watching her first few laps, was obvious-20mph at most-and I could see the fear in her eyes! By the end of the day she was much, much better, not just in her speed but in her understanding of the bike and her limits, if not the bikes.

Ive been half a dozen or so times now, and always learn something new

They don't do many bike days anymore unless its a club type event, which is a shame as 1) its quite fun on a sub 600 bike and 2) I literally live 1.5 miles away, so close that on the last one I rode my race bike home for lunch!

There's a review of sat nav apps in Ride magazine this month.  None of them were outstanding but CoPilot, Calimoto and Myroute-App Navigation scored the highest.  I use CoPilot, it lets you avoid or favour types of road but nothing more - uploading routes from Tyre is also a faff.  A friend of mine has the £500 TomTom Rider but even that is far from perfect (the 'twisty route' section often takes us on pointless diversions through suburban streets).

The latest trio of bikes from France have been unpacked and now all on ebay. Prices are pretty high as I really want to get as much as possible for them, but if you are in no rush feel free to make insulting offers.

3 bikes a big cool box and camping gear can all fit in the back of the 806. I had to remove some foot pegs plus the front wheel and handle bars on the DR

The CB125 twin I am probably way too high with the price but you have to try.

The 125DR the engine is probably toast but it has really good bodywork.

Finally the Solex this one actually runs and rides. They are well advanced for their day with shaft drive and a rear disc brake

Like I say they are priced high but I am open to offers, they are up for sale for a month then the prices will drop right down if they are still here. I will say that if I get the asking for all 3 then I will see a small profit on what it has cost to go over and buy them before anyone wonders what a brilliant money making scheme it is.

For what my opinion is worth I would say you are in with a chance at that money with the CB125, especially if you can get it to run, its actually quite a cool looking thing in curious way, just needs the correct person to spot it, maybe try sticking it on some of the facebook bike groups if you can. The DR is expensive, they were never particularly desirable being 4 stroke and heavy, to me even if the panel work is immaculate, unregistered as a non runner its worth just field bike or donor money - maybe £250, if it was a TS or DT it would have sold within days at that money even as a rough non runner.

The Solex I know nothing about so will remain silent.

Sorry not attempting to pour water on the bonfire or anything, opinions are like arseholes etc

Three more this year- 26th July, 30th August and 27th September.

Did this each time on my old, 80,000 mile CBR600, and the last one in the wet, which was excellent.

Going to do the Level III in September on my SV650 as I think it will suit the circuit well.

We always stay at the Black Horse-very welcoming and decent food too.

It's an MSX in a new body, available in the UK next month.

I believe they're more expensive than an MSX, because of course it is. Nostalgia is worth £££

There's a new Cub 90. But not sure if that's coming here.

Next weekend is the Vintage Motorcycle Club's Founders' Day Rally at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire.  It is usually very well attended, making the public motorcycle park every bit as interesting as the main club exhibits and the auto(bike) jumble.  I go most years and hope to be there next Sunday (22nd July).  Car parking is normally free, then you pay per person to get in to the event.

I'll be in a car, then deploying my old pale green, three wheeled mobility scooter to get around. If any of you attend and spot me, say hello!  My brother has been there on his Yamaha Fazer or BSA A10 most years but has since moved from Aylesbury to Penzance so probably won't be there.

Was at Santa Pod today for the Dragstalgia event. Odd seeing a number of cars and bikes from my youth their.

John Hobbs rode his bike "The Hobbit" with its two We slake engines twinned together - real beast of a machine. John managed to launch the bike well and attained a terminal speed of 11 mph on his last run of theday. Not bad for a bloke who is over 70 years old (which made me realise I am no longer young myself).

I'll have to enter my mobility scooter. It can get to 4.5mph.  Presumably you meant 111mph  :-D

Oops-bloody tablet. The Hobbit's terminal speeed was 161 mph. Could probably get a Hyabusa to do a similar terminal speed, but the Hobbit looks a truely frightening thing to get up the quarter mile.

I ragged this thing back to go and pick up my bike as I got caught up leaving the office - and it was actually better than my first review.

It was still shite, but not AS bad as I made out - fun enough when being ridden with the throttle like an on/off switch :D

When I got back I had a good chat with the fella from the Kawa dealer and he said everyone says the same about those bikes "1st gear too short, 6th gear too short, and an arseache after an hour" so I'm not alone it seems.

Then I made a fanny of myself infront of all the lads putting the bikes away for the night by stalling as I went to pull away back on my bike. Twat :D

ETA: Oh, and the brakes are far improved now the fluid has been changed - think the fluid was just well past its best is all.

I saw one of your recent posts on BB (I didn't realise you were on there) and wondered how you were getting on with your 636?

How old is it how big is tank does it vibrate like a £@

I love 44teeth. Watched every video over the course of a month or so.

They've just yesterday kicked off "The Budget Bike Battle Italia".... except the budget was £5k?! And then crept to £6.5k because there "wasn't anything around for £5k". Who's budget is that? :o

Looking forward to the new battle though :)

i was an avid watcher of the Baron and slowly got into 44 teeth as well,so long as you ignore the fact that their beer budget is the same as my bike budget, its a great watch :-)

Hi Hairnet- Google suggests its a 16 litre tank and its an 04 plate. It's the last of the proper* Enfields though- Cast iron barrel, right hand change etc.

It does vibrate like fuck- Above 55mph it's like riding a whacker plate.
