Not something you see every day, though I imagine they were pretty much standard street furniture around here in the 70s/80s given we're just up the road from Luton.

Excuse the quality of the photo, camera in this new phone is absolute garbage compared to the old one.

Very nice to see a MK1 Punto out and about in the wild, especially in that green colour. Can't think of the last time I saw one.

Thought about stopping for a chat but I inferred it was just an insignificant daily driven vehicle rather than an enthusiast!

It’s an old car though. Are 30+ year old cars used as insignificant dailies?

Good point, well made! Looking at the MOT history it had only just passed a test on the day I spotted it after a period of being expired. Only around 30k on the clock. Might have made someone's day if it got noticed on the first day of being used on the road again. I probably should have said hello!

Walking to the park yesterday I spotted this lovely purple Escort

IMG20241208150346.thumb.jpg.dfe72bf1093ad8fea2d9cc3a0e168c56.jpg

Couldn't see any rust as I walked by, although the front bumper is in primer grey, and both front tyres are bald...

Unexpected sight in central Belfast this lunchtime....

1983 Nissan Skyline R30 Hardtop, in GTX trim and fitted with the 2.8 litre inline six.

DVLA checker on A361PNB indicates its first UK registration as August 2024, so a pretty recent arrival on these shores.

Not a massive fan of the rims personally, though since the owner's dumped it on double yellows, presumably they're not all that bothered by what people think...

Not one but two BL spots today, and in the same colour! Love the original plates on the B, pity about the rest of it!

EDIT: They're not the same colour at all are they? Silly colour blind twit!

EDIT 2: Actually I think they might be? I can't decide. The B might have been that same shade in better times before becoming decrepit. I don't know.

EDIT 3: Can someone just tell me if they're the same colour? TIA

They both look like Pageant Blue to me. BL dipped most of their stuff in it during the late 1970s.

Strangely but not surprisingly for BL, the small Triumphs - Spitfire and Dolomite - were available in Pageant Blue, but the 2000/2500 weren't. They had the very similar but slightly darker Tahiti Blue.

I can't ever remember seeing the small cars in this colour. Typical Leyland, why have one colour when we can have two instead. Let's needlessly complicate matters.
