I knew there were WB bodies on Trafics/Ducatos etc, but this one I thought looked especially American and might have been an import, especially with it being LHD etc. I've certainly never seen one before anyway.

It's a LeSharo. They were built for the North American market on LHD Trafic chassis-cabs imported from France and disguised with all that plastic cladding. This was at the time Renault had a presence in the US through its partnership with AMC. Early ones had a 57bhp non-turbo diesel and 4-speed box so I'm surprised they could even drag themselves around. At least they didn't use the 1.4 petrol from the R5 that some European Trafics got. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnebago_LeSharo Captain Mainwaring 1

Stanky Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Back from collecting the cat from the cattery where she spent Christmas, and this is the view of the man (and I will bet my house and all its contents that it is a single, 60-something man who permanently wears a string vest and trousers held up with binder-twine) next door's half of the shared driveway Heroic stuff Skut, worldofceri, danthecapriman and 4 others 7

Datsuncog Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Well, they say it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good... Who knew this manky MkIV Cortina Ghia was living under a tarp just around the corner from the Cogparents? Not me, that's for sure. Until last night's storm blew its cover, quite literally. 'Ziebart Protected' sticker at the top of the rear screen gives some indication of how it's managed to survive way longer than FoMoCo ever intended... Arches look ok, tidemark sills a little less ok, but ooft that A-pillar. Yeah. That's pretty frilly. I shudder to think how the inner arches are faring, though the very low nearside front might be a sign of Bad Things. CAR777T : September 1978 registered, as a 2.0 Auto. Last V5 issued October 2004.
