Nissan was a bit dinged/dented but the Starlet was lovely

I didn't even know they did the 800 coupes in diesel flavour. Iiiinteresting.

They didn't, it's a conversion. The 825D coupe was on eBay recently, I was really tempted to make an offer but the listing ended before I could get drunk enough.

I'm not at liberty to disclose the precise location of this vehicle, and I discovered it quite by accident, while delivering some parts to a mate's garage. It really needs to be rescued, although there seems to have been some work done on the engine, with new plugs fitted.

I feel like I recognize that reg. Don't think I've ever seen it locally though. Could be a final edition!

That's interesting, I was surprised when I looked it up and it was diesel, didn't realise it was a one-off though.

Ebay listing is here, was in Northampton when sold, I saw it in Norfolk

So what is the difference between a Gilbern Genie and an Invader? They both have Triumph 1300 bumpers, I can see that much.

There was another period low volume not quite kit car that used the 1300s front sidelights. I forget what it is now but it's the main reason they are so scarce and silly expensive when they do pop up.

The Invader was introduced in July 1969 and based on the Genie but with improved chassis and larger brakes.

The front suspension now came from the MGC and the chassis was strengthened. It took the brand further upmarket with fittings such as electric windows and walnut-veneered dashboard.

You could well be right! He certainly had a bunch of Mk5 panels.

Should you feel the need for a Hyundai Heckblende or a rear quarter you can contact the seller here:
