Cavalier, anyone?

Right, the ex-Sporty Shite, ex-Cavcraft Cav is up for grabs.

The lad who had it off me spent £600 (yes, £600!) getting it through an MOT and servicing it etc: he's very fussy and doesn't muck about.

It's tested to *FEBRUARY 2013*, no tax, metallic 'lacquer peel' green five door hatch. It's a 1.8 8V manual so will be mega reliable as they always were.

Towbar and a sunroof I think plus should have power steering.

It's got a white driver's door as someone tried to steal the car (ironically after the lad had moved from the Wirral to Chester!) and I seem to recall the paintwork on the bonnet is more crazed than a crazy thing on national crazing day.

Pictures, better details etc to follow but it should do someone a right good turn one way or the other. Sorry to mention Len and charity in the same post, but it'd be good for one of those 'Chods to Coventry' type japes. Just don't nail shit to it or scrap it at the end please.

£250 and knowing the previous owner I'd be amazed if it'll want much (if anything) for the next MOT in November. There, I've gone and jinxed it now.

What year is it Billy? I'm looking for something wholly boring/reliable but I suspect 1) this won't be old enough for classic insurance and 2) I won't have flogged either of my current motors so will have no room or cash-monies.

Ballsacks.

Off topic Billster, but there is a Mk1 at the barn where my C8 is having its timing belt done (mahoosive job owing to it being tighter than a nuns chuff under the bonnet) - I must get a pictue for you.

Cheers Marty, I still owe you somethi.g from ebay too.

Dave: I think its a 94 ish one, can find out for sure and let you k.ow if wanted. What are you trying to sell by the way? Cheers

Hmm, '94 will be too young for my insurance Billy, for sure. Ive got the Whale and the Golf up at the moment, need to recoup some monies to invest into escRot and buy something that I don't care about to use over winter.

If you didn't take your banger on a one

way trip to the gallows then what would it

be doing otherwise and how many more

miles would it do before it was scrapped?

Well, it's anybody's guess but our money

says that it would probably do a whack

more mileage than the 1500 you're going

to treat it to. So you're actually removing

an old vehicle from the environment,

making way for a new more fuel efficient

vehicle, maybe even a hybrid! If you didn't

scrap that banger then it may live to do

another 10,000 so you've just saved 8500

miles worth of co2 right there!

I was like totally WTF, then I LOLd.

Who said that load of old balls then? I must be missing something!

Oh, and good luck selling Billy.

It was on a charity rally website, made me quite angry when I first read it.

A Google search for the text should find the original.

Shit pictires soz as my camera batteries are flat and I'm on some ridiculous 'smart phone' that I'm utterly shite at using.

*NB: the vile monstrosity behind it (a black and pink Fraud Ka) is 100% absolutely FUCK ALL to do with me.

Thanks. If it [un]helps the sale I may actually attempt to spray the driver's door using rattle cans. This is unlikely however as it will involve spending money.

For Cavmad....

I couldnt really photograph the other interesting stuff that was in the yard, you can just make out the Mk 1 Fester with 2.0 Zetec on the left though.

If any of the regulars want this I can be flexible over payment time.

That MK1 is almost the stunt double of mine !

I believe it to be for sale, as is the Jazz next to it. I shall make enquiries when I return....

Also I have a (year) 2000 Almera 1.4 5 door hatchback up for grabs.

Handily* enough I don't know a great deal about it yet as only just towed it home on a dolly. It's metallic green, has power steering, alloys, air con etc. Certainly seems ro run ok, typical Jap I expect and should be really reliable. Bodywork good for age, some scratches and a dent on the front part of the top of the door (probably opened against a high post or something) and the ABS light is on, and one tyre looks suspect. No MOT or tax, and for some bizzarre reason these seem to export for about £250+.

Pictures/other details L8R M8. £250 ono.

This thread REFUSES TO DIE!

I've checked the Cavalier paperwork and the MOT is actually until the 2ND OF FEB 2013. Yes, 2013! And I'm not even going to ask any more money for the car (but I might be slightly twattish and only accept close offers)

WTF are you waiting for? Also (as if the MOT wasn't a deal clincher on it's own) it has an aftermarket remote locking thing fitted AND snazzy wheeltrims. It won't* be here long at this price. Even if it is. Or something.

Obviously I COULD NOT BE ARSED to back in and get the keys so I could move it and get pictures of the nearside.

Those Almeras are great cars, although they can rust badly and the immobiliser can play up. Etc etc etc good luck with the sale etc etc etc if only I were closer etc etc etc

Even I'm getting sick of seeing this now. It was a garage ornament but has literally been usurped by other shit. Battery charged, car starts first time and totally reliable

£225, but I need to get the now fitted snazzy alloys off it and find some steels instead before it goes. I might even swap it for a decent road bike. Might. Not definitely.
