What will most likely happen is that the horrible pale blue filter on the speedometer will go and I'll try to match that reasonably closely to the fuel gauge (which has the filter built into it, and it can't be easily dismantled). The lower gauges will probably be left as is. I don't mind so much having the dash one colour and those another...but the mismatch on the dash itself bugs me! PhilA and LightBulbFun 2

(also which RT is it exactly out of curiosity? ) the last RT I was on, it did not, and it was probably a good thing it did not work as the driver was happy to hurtle along at some rate of nots, ignorance is bliss and all that LOL but dont get me wrong was quite fun (I managed to blag the seat behind the driver, where curious said window behind the driver was missing so I got a quite a good view into the cabin, tho at one point someone shouted at me to tickle the drivers ears, which you be pleased to know I did not, lest I send an RT into the East Grinstead countryside greenery LOL)

Crackers Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 There's something really soothing about that soft green illumination. Gives a lovely view of the gauges bouncing around showing you a range around +-50% of the speed and revs you're actually doing. LightBulbFun, Fumbler and Conrad D. Conelrad 3

Zelandeth Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Today's horrible rental van. Very cold and uninviting. At least they've made the typeface easier to read than on the previous gen where the speedo in particular was really fussy and hard to read at a glance. Pointless bloody touchscreen nonsense present and correct of course.

Zelandeth Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Here we go, latest addition to the fleet. 1986 Merc W123 230TE. Nice and neatly done, exactly as we'd expect from Mercedes back in this era. This was actually take two as I spotted the bulb in the bower switch knob had failed... So that got replaced at 2330...Takes all of ten seconds so was no reason not to just change it. The temperature control markings and pointers (outer two controls for driver/passenger side) are actually red, camera has just washed them out. We will need to do another one later anyway as there are several buttons up above the heater controls which should be illuminated...but I've only had the car home for about six hours so that's not happening today! Three Speed Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 After much faffing about I now have all the dashboard lights working in the DS. And they are bright enough to read the gauges. Including the rev counter which of course is lying. adw1977, Jack D, Six-cylinder and 8 others 11
