Kiltox Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I don't know, it's functional for sure but I stared at it for 340 miles today and it's bloody boring! Think it's the orange backlight that bugs me the most
RustyNuts Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Thats what I like about it lol - the orange backlight is retro...
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Here's one I liked so much, I took a photo of it in 2008. It's the detailed uh, diagram you got instead of a rev counter on the Escort MK5. RustyNuts Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Like it or loathe it, making its not so grand entrance into this thread is the dash for the renault safrane ph2: Please ignore the heater outlet in the middle there.. it's a bit faded on the middle slats. Close up of the dials and pathetically i forgot to turn on the lights to illuminate the dials (sorry): oldcars, Magnificent Rustbucket and Conrad D. Conelrad 3
Steve79 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Until i can a chance to post my collecshunnns this photo will have to suffice of my safrane phase1 2.2vi auto. Its amazing that Renault were able to produce a car where the electrics are so reliable! They_all_do_that_sir and Magnificent Rustbucket 2
RustyNuts Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 You wouldn't say that after an ignition coil failure on the bosch motronic ECU they put in the PH2. Once that goes you're buggered. In my case it was the cooling system it knocked out - the ECU no longer grounds the cooling fans and I think you can guess what happened after that. To make matters worse I think the replacement engine is probably fried too.. but I was warned that may happen so i swapped them knowing i may end up doing it again.. With that said though, there have been other gremlins and once I've fixed those, the car itself is still pretty nice. I just need to find a few rare parts somehow... I suspect I'll end up taking a trip to france in the future lol
Steve79 Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Let me know if there are any parts you need. I scrapped my phase1 2.5td recently and kept a few of the choice bits and pieces. Haven't got a lot of stuff but might have something you need.
RustyNuts Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Centre console where the stereo goes.. with the carpet on each side. If you have one of those I'd be mega happy to hear about it but thats about all i'm really looking for

rantingYoof Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 It seems I have one of these sorts of photos from way back when I was messing around with the camera for my 'artificial light' segment of my photography module for my pointless HND. It's a Saab 9000 2.0CSE. 136hp of naturally aspirated thirstiness. Magnificent Rustbucket, Lacquer Peel and Conrad D. Conelrad 3

One of the nicest interiors I've experienced (depsite all the lilac/grey it manages not to be boring), and the best car ever for a two-man road trip, one in the front, passenger headrest off, one in the back. Perfect. Magnificent Rustbucket 1

gordonbennet Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 My 62 plate MAN daily driver, only got another 12 months before she's replaced, kinda grown fond of the old girl. That steering wheel isn't big enough*, it really needs polished wood dowels gluing round the outside bit like a sailing ships wheel.Note the switches on your left, conveniently sited by your left kneecap, handily* red background lit so old sods like me have to rummage round and find their glasses to see what the bloody symbol says. Landcruiser i bought couple weeks ago, there's a prat nav/info centre in the blank space between green buttons and clock, prefer to switch if off though, touchee screenee doncha know WCPGW kerching, and i promised mesen i would never have that bollocks, what have i done.
Pillock Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 This is what's wrong with the world right now. Seeing a BMW up there reminded me.... I took this photo for here because of the SHODDY NATURE and POOR ATTITUDE. So back in the day, everything on the BMW was a very deep orange-red colour. Now look. The dials are orange, the LCD readout thing is magenta, the steering wheel controls are red and the dashboard buttons are pink. STAB ME IN THE EYES. It really frustrates me that they couldn't colour match a bloody LCD display (which does red, white in the day, and even has a mustard yellow colour for "you should probably worry about this soon-ish") to the dials. Dick Cheeseburger and Magnificent Rustbucket 2
Magnificent Rustbucket Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Quite surprising - the E90 isn't like that, it is all the BMW-orange.

That red is absolutely awful and completely drowned out by the white info screen telling you what incorrect gear it has randomly chosen for you to use. mat_the_cat and gordonbennet 2
