I have a lens, the early under the bumper half a banana shaped type, will have to check which side it is, but I'll wager it'll be nearside.

Not urgent but if anyone knows where I could get hold of the following for a 1988 5dr Vauxhall Nova, I'd be interested:

 

Solid pair of front doors, preferably in flame red - the 5 door versions seem to be surprisingly rare and they do rot out at the bottom if the drain holes get blocked. Passenger door is more important.

 

Interior grab handles - the ones in my car have gone brittle and snapped.

 

Ebay and breakers are coming up empty-handed at the moment.

Failing that speak nicely to one of the AS gang who visit France a bit, for some reason Novas in scrapyards there always look a million times less rusty than in Blighty. At least if internet pictures are anything to go by.

Having skimmed through the forum, the remarkable quality of the spelling, grammer and TXTSPK are making my eyes cross (I'm really not a snob - I hope!) but will register later, plough through and see what's around as well as the other sites. I'm really surprised how rare the 4/5 dr models are becoming.

Well, it's worth a try.

 

Due to the catastrophic failure of Mrs PBK to adore the lovely white Maestro and bugger all else coming to fruition, I wonder if anyone out there in the London/Herts/Essex regions has anything interesting for sale.

 

The brief:

 

Auto is good but not 100% necessary.

It mustn't be a Nova/Corsa/Fiesta/Escort/Micra (ha) or a Maestro

Tax and MOT would be bloody helpful.

Saloon or hatch preferred.

Not too modern.

Not overly bothered about engine size.

 

Cost around the bugger all to £350'ish mark (laughably titchy budget I know, but hey, it's worth a try).

I've got more chance of noshing off with Kirsten Dunst, but I'm on the hunt for a pair of rot-free Herald doors that don't cost eleventy million pounds. Not a mega high priority at the moment, but if you lot can keep an eye out for me that'd be much appreciated. Pass. side is more important as mine is entirely constructed from filler & rot. Cheers!

I'm on the lookout for some Austin 1100 front wings and a front panel, an o/s rear arch and n/s sill would be handy too. I can get them all new but am far too tight to spend more on a few panels than the car cost me.

Whilst the subject of hard-to-find body panels has been raised, I'll throw my hat into the ring.

I need, in order of importance, O/S front wing, driver's door, passenger door, N/S front wing for a TE51 or KE50 Toyota Corolla Liftback.

As I know Toyota codes are a bit complicated it's this car (1976-1979).

 

 

Unlike the Austin 1100, none of these are available new AFAIK, if they were I'd be much deeper in overdraft

Jag X300 clock? Mine's fooked. Also, Jag X300 stereo as I can't be bothered resoldering the cd player control circuit again. It's the Alpine one.

 

Also, o/s rear seatbelt buckle surround, the plastic bit in the backrest. In oatmeal (light beige..) if possible. The entire glovebox setup from a late X300 would be nice, must be from an X300 or X305 though - not the X308. Basically, the dash looks like a late spec XJ40 one, not the curvier X308 (V8 XJ) job.

 

Mine's a late '94, so doesn't actually have a glovebox...
