Nice. Bumperless look isn't really my thing, but looks solid and it's certainly pretty rare. Welcome!

Welcome ! another Italian pasta lover

... did you damage the roof taking that last pic ?

... I take it those are late X/19 rims ?

Posted

That's a great little rarity. Agreed on the bumper front as mentioned above and sticking some satin black or chrome ones on would really finish this off nicely, quite sneaky too since then it wouldn't look so obviously tweaked even with the black bonnet.

Welcome!

I actually think these get away with the bumperless look quite well, although I'm very much a factory-standard sort of chap myself.

If you're thinking of lowering it or rolling the arches, mind, you're on the wrong website .

Welcome!

That'll look ace when the bonnet's painted and the bumpers are back on!

Welcome.

I like it, quite like the un-bumpered and black bonnet.

Hello and welcome aboard!

Liking your car a lot. Does the tail-pipe double up as a starting handle?

That's absolutely cracking! I can't decide about the bumpers - it's missing , but perhaps it's better for it. WIN.

Welcome :D

The painted bonnet and lack of bumpers are certainly raising mixed opinions!, Personally I'm with Gary and think it would look better with the bumpers back on but I'm a sucker for originality.

I quite like that. Looks like it would in the '80s.

Welcome aboard. Don't piss in the plant pots.

Welcome! Never driven a 127, but hear good things about them. Enjoy being a member of the site.

Oh M'coli, have you ever missed out!

Pete, welcome aboard. This was my 127, way back when...

...Yeah ok, it's a model, but I can't find a photo of the full-size car at the moment, I do have one somewhere. Anyway, this is what it looked like. And as for X1/9 wheels...

Nice little 127!

Nothing wrong with the 'bumpers-off' look. Most of my cars end up like this - usually because I take them off to access something for repair, then can't be arsed to put them back on (they'll probably be off again next year for something else - so what's the point?). Also - they're often dented anyway, to the point that the car looks tidier without them.

Thanks for all the comments guys, definately mixed opinions but all welcome.Wheels are off an x1/9 Gran Finale as in the picture, bargain off ebay.Engine picture is from the front with the bonnet off so no denting occured.I have been toying with putting the bumpers back on in satin black,we'll see.A few more pics for those who like it original.

Liking what you've done there with the resto and paint. The black bonnet looks good IMO and bumpers to match would be way worth a photoshop at the very least (not that I'm capably of such things though many on here can do)

Some mods just work

And others...

All a mater of taste though and it would be a dull world (or website) if we all thought the same.

*doh, big pic fail :(

Like you say, each to their own but that last car is horrendous, looks like a hot wheels car. Thanks for the comments on the resto and paint, actually painted the car with a roller! Will put some pics up of the many rusty bits I had to cut out at some point.

Please, fellas, stop quoting that pic, it's awful!

Welcome to the site!

I wasn't all that taken with the styling of the Fiat 127 back in the day, but I think they're ace now.
