Ye gods and little fishes, you have excelled yourself Mr Bickle! :D:shock:8) That's an absolute belter. I have no idea when I last saw one of those - in fact I'd forgotten they did a 9 Turbo as well as the 11.

That looks in really good condition.

My question is, what type of ale did you swap it for? That will give me an idea of the value placed on these french automotive delights.

Christ on the true cross, will you just look at that.

If that isnt gold-plated, copper-bottomed, steel-hawsered, 100% Grade-A Autoshite then I really don't know what is!

Nice buy Nigel :D

That luxobarge youve also picked up from RR looks rather tasty

So the economy has finally got to the point where beer is worth more than money. Not that it's a bad thing if saving this like this is the result.

LE SEX!

I really like the 9 and 11 turbo's.

Almost purchased an 11 years ago, but insurance was too high.

Posted

Sweet!, There can't be many, if any, 9 Turbo's left, Does it need much work for a mot?

Top bombing, sir!

Did the personalised plate come as part of the deal?

Regtransfers.com probably value that plate at about £3k. Not that anyone would ever pay that, but if he ever comes to punt it on it means he can ask 6 times the value of the car with that on it.

This is based on most of the ads for cars with private plates I see on ebay.

Ace, a perfect wolf in sheeps clothing I would imagine?!

You should open your own museum!!

PS: Talking of Renaults, how is you 14 getting along?

Pete.

The number plate is one of mine (my initials) which meant I really had to find a 9 turbo. i had it on an ordinary 9 (courtesy of Regie Ritmo -ex of this parish) which I blew up -and is currently getting a slightly larger Volvo turbo & ancilaries installed. Call it a 9 sleeper.

This was offered around for pennies some considerable time back -bought by someone who bit off more than he could chew. I was eventaully offered it in exchange for a case of locals beers (I arranged a selection of Arundel brewery's finest). Illloness has delayed collection for sometime -but it recently arrived at my establishment -& I was pleasantly suprised.

The missing turbo -the apparent reason it was 'off road' was in the boot (!), (hidden under the folded carpet) only needing 2 new oil lines manufacturing. I presumed the head gasket had gone as several hoses & thermostat were off -so I've recommissioned it, less thermostat- but all seems well right now.Time will tell.

Despite a lack of use since 2009, the brakes pulled straight, the car drove well so I whizzed it up for a 'first fail' -& it went straight through! Light fell out on the way home -but I saved the glass -& have a spare. Transfer of the number plate went without hitch - (the'' standard'' 9 will shortly be NAB 909T) gentle snagging has commenced.

I've yet to find out why the carpet & headlining were both removed, or why the clip on sill trims were inside the car. 'Spect I will though.

That's superb, Nigel. As above had forgotten all about these cars so to see one now is brilliant.

I still have these two -awaiting collection:

The top one is the one I was referring to Nigel, I thought I saw it in your front yard in the second picture down. Is that another 505 or something similar?

Posted

Not certain which you mean Ben. Left to right -Renault Colorale, Moskvich 412, Renault 25v6turbo -and the yellow one is my Fiat Coupe 20vt.

Not well enough to collect, yet, sadly.

There was one almost the same as that in the Southend area until quite recently. I wonder how many people knew what it was?

The was also a metallic green X-reg example knocking around, too 8)

Nice buy. I really rather like the 9 and 11. Not exactly exciting (well, I s'pose the Turbos have their moments) but nice, simple, enjoyable little cars.

Spot on Ian. Ideal for local stuff, possibly a bit of occasional work -unrecgonisable by the majority. Exactly what I'm looking for

Posted

Thats nice 8) I do rather like that.

I'm a big fan of R9s and R11s, very overlooked but actually very decent cars. Might have to have another at some point.

Good shot sir! More jammy than Ken Dodd's butty box.

Canny buy Nige,

Have a pic of a Matchbox 11 Turbo I dug out of the loft.

Nice -if I see a black 9 turbo -I might just buy it.

I thought it might have been this one Nigel but I'm guessing it could be an 18 estate?

You have a 14 Nigel? I must have missed that :) Do tell...

Posted

'Kin Nora Ben -you've got sharp eyes.

Tis indeed an 18 estate -a base level one which i grenaded on the M11 (didnt seem to like extended valve bounce..) & which now hosts an ex Fuego Turbo mota- from the one that got terminally lunched.

Damn good spot.
