RoadworkUK
There's been a bit of Ford StreetKa love upthread, so I thought I'd join in. Some years ago, eBay was full of 1/18 bargains, because the word on collectability hadn't got out. Today, everything costs £££ so I've gone totally cold turkey, but back then I used to set an eBay filter up at "max £15" and do a search for 1/18 and see what popped up... and up popped this: It's by Welly – a brand that I really didn't have a clue about at the time, but I gather they've been churning out smaller-scale diecast rammle for donkeys years. I bought this on the basis that if a Ford StreetKa exists in 1/18 scale, I absolutely have to have it, no questions asked, and if it turns out to be any good that's a bonus. It turned out to be any good. Possibly the wheels are on the large side, but there's nothing to get upset about with regards proportions. There's a bit of orange peel on the paint, but the coverage is even and the body is nicely cast, with none of the rough edges and stray moulding lines that Bburago serves up from time to time. It's probably the interior that really sells it, though. My favourite detail is that, while the Model 5000 RDS stereo is accurately portrayed, with the cassette loading slot (no fancy-pants Model 6000 CD player here) and all the buttons in the right place, it's clear that the removable four-button security panel was missing from the prototype car at the time of modelling. I wonder if the modelling team even realised. And sticking to the prototype theme: Interesting to see the Rocam decal here; the Rocam (roller finger camshaft) engine was developed in Brazil and would go under the Duratec name when it arrived in Europe, so it looks like the Welly StreetKa was modelled on a pre-production machine. So there we have it. Another 1/18 model from a relatively undistinguished brand, but which happens to be way, way better than you might expect. eddyramrod, Amishtat, andrew e and 6 others 8
Amishtat
Another lovely day up here, so a trip to the boot sale seemed a good idea. In our new hearse, just for a laugh and to give it a good run for once. The usual diecast man wasn't in attendance but a couple of the other stalls threw up a few morsels. There isn't usually time or sufficient enthusiasm to go rooting through the proper tat boxes and for the most part they were full of Chinese no-name landfill but in the end I found enough to make the nut. Quite a nice Majorette Talbot Alpine in a colour I hadn't seen before, a Corgi Transit (of course the door is awol..) and, narrowly beating a Dinky TR7 after I'd noticed it had been trodden on, a Corgi McLaren Ford which seems surprisingly intact bar a little sticker damage. bunglebus, RoadworkUK, AndyW201 and 2 others
Amishtat
The only relatively old or expensive item of the day was this Corgi Riviera, missing tyres aside too nice to leave at a fiver, in my opinion anyway. Amishtat
Bear with me on this one.. Having recently moved 370 miles north-west and having very little interest in either this maker's products or buses in general, you may imagine my surprise to see this on a stall of otherwise no interest. "Hmm, that almost looks like a Colchester livery" I thought to myself. Stap me if that wasn't just what it was. Fuck knows whose souvenir /valuable heirloom this was to have wound up on a pasting table in Dumfries, but there we go, picked up by probably the only Colcestrian for miles. We've probably all got a Lledo or two knocking about somewhere but this is the only time I'll admit to buying one. No idea what it's supposed to represent, nor whether Colchester Corporation ever had one but yes, that was coming home with me. It's been on a shelf for a while, the interior is thick with hairy dust. Burnside and RoadworkUK

andrew e
Rivera is rather sweet @Amishtat I almost chanced one earlier but of course it had the chewed bumpers… how ever I had quite some success today at the toy fair. A rather nice Gran Tourismo Lone Star Impy for £6 and the partially complete £1 Rolls - are these the correct tyres - they seem rather unusual. The Range Rover a paltry 50p. If anyone has bootlid let me know or if anyone wants rolls parts let me know! Amishtat, bunglebus and Burnside

I think what happens is that corner breaks off, allowing the tailgate to come out. Having a look online there are others with similar, but not the same, chunks missing, and no tailgate. I'm going to write to Corgi and complain. Amishtat
AndyW201
Nice little Hot Wheels haul yesterday. Firstly, B&M came up trumps. Thought I'd missed the yellow Volvo boat! Great detailing on these road versions, especially the rear with the lights and badging, I do like the later model Civics, especially the batshit-craziness of the Type R. I've already got a Nissan Silvia with this HKS livery, so it looks like this one's part of a series. Great.... andrew e, bunglebus and Burnside
AndyW201
Then across to Morrisons, and ticked a few more off the want list, Finally got the little Gulf Porsche, A nice version of the old Landcuiser. Looks nice and standard-ish, barring the wheels... Not had a HW Roadrunner yet, and not seen this one in any of the previews. Loving these slotmag style wheels on this one. Didn't think I'd find one of these little beasties either, Lovely little thing, takes me back to getting a pack of little Zylmex cars with a toy garage as a kid, and a Honda N being one of them, (along with the Silver Shadow and MK1 Capri. Wish I still had those...) Finally got the Eunos in the metallic red, So, that completes another Then & Now pairing with the later MX5. andrew e, junkyarddog, eddyramrod and 2 others

The ones here are given 'range' names Road-Master Impy Super Cars, Road-Master Flyers, Road-Master Flyers Super Cars - or versions of each with words taken away and blanked-over on the base casting! Yet the wheels are not consistent across the 'ranges' Tiny Tom said he could give your nicer one a home quite quickly if possible Split_Pin, eddyramrod, andrew e and 3 others 5

Quite rough but never seen another Should look like this as a Zylmex: While Playart did this: And Tomica did this N360: Yes it was by the late Ryu Asada. bunglebus
A couple of arrivals - firstly this Ford tractor with permanently attached K-17 Dyson low-power trailer with Taylor Woodrow decals It came with a pretty tidy Caper Cart, but once again has a broken bumper. I just need a good donor for my red one! Might have a go at fixing it with plastic card Burnside, AndyW201, andrew e and 1 other

barrett
Those Lloyds are really cute. I came close to buying a rough one a while back, but just couldn't justify it (because I DON'T COLLECT TOY CARS). Really mint ones seem to go for only slightly less than I very nearly bought a real, live full-sized Lloyd Kombi for a couple of years back... still not sure if I dodged a bullet, or denied myself everlasting happiness with that one. andrew e
In the spirt of forum karma, and following the lead taken by @Datsuncog I present TAT TUESDAY! Over the weekend I went to my first toyfair since 2019. As expected bad hygiene, ignorance, gazelles and sky high pricing were in attendance like the good old days 😁 There was however THIS - 5 for a 1£ 😳 Now despite being like a ferret down a diecast drainpipe, since studying my photos I’ve spotted so much more goodness! However I did raid this and a matching £1 tray (the sheer decadence!) for the goodwill of the forum 👍 So here goes, post in the thread the car and number, PM me some details if your tempted! Royal Mail on top obviously. First up the £1 selection, the Marzal has pillar damage, SM bent axles. Then the 20p selection 😳 AndyW201, flat4alfa, Datsuncog and 3 others
