Who was it did Buick Regals again? Was rummaging under the bed and found these amongst some other suitably 70s and 80s stuff in a box.

Funny how some things just look familiar - I think a fair few of those Regals were ones you bought off me as part of a Corgi job lot I offered out back in 2018.

The black and white NYPD Police version with the blue lightbar dates from the Mattel era - it came as an Auto City two-pack alongside the Custom Van (printed up as a SWAT Team van), bought from Woolworths c.1995.

Good to see them again!

My Polistil Ambulance looks very similar to the Superkings one, I guess there were a thousand similar vehicles in the road at the time.

Mine is a really weird scale though that doesnt fit in with anything else (except the box, as was the intention !), I think its something like 1:30.

Slightly odd looking.

Most commonly found in red,I believe this would have came with a roof-rack,canoe and trailer.

Wasn't too keen on the white,so used silver on the roof instead.

In fairness to old Marcel and the boys in the Corgi design office, the 1:1 version of the Marlin is a bit of an odd, humpy-looking thing too...

One of those design dead-ends, perhaps rightly so.

Very much enjoying these revitalisations!

Hot Wheels F case still proving to be the proverbial unflushable turd around here.  Every outlet has several boxes of it and it's not going anywhere soon.

In other news though, I was pleased to finally find this at Asda, as seen previously on here. IMG_20260628_142607.jpg.da575cfbce2f7ad40b2e7fa6d0825f57.jpg

Nice to get hold of the E Type at last. Looks good in this release, in a convincing rendition of Old English White and with some sensible wheels this time.

A bit of a comedy clash of scales but the truck is pretty well done too. May have to crack it open and see what it looks like with a 1/72 or 1/76 load instead.

Found this in the car earlier.

IMG_20260628_141855.jpg.c3ffbfbcdf63c14fa9647f1c650f3988.jpg

I had ummed and ahhed whether to get this when it came out. A couple of weeks ago though, Asda had premiums on offer at £6 for Fathers Day, so that helped decide things.

IMG_20260628_142126_edit_23581077535848.jpg.9fa2d1db3ce84401cbf6bedd2756fbf3.jpg

Still prefer the earlier plain white release but the faux racing livery still looks good on this one.

Every time I see a Matchbox Field car American Graffiti film quote comes to mind.

Quote

Well I'm not surprised, driving' a field car!

Field car? What's a field car?

A field car runs through the fields, dropping' cow shit all over the place to make the lettuce grow.

I’ve been busy doing other stuff lately so not done a whole lot with models etc, but I bought a small job lot of bits the other day. Only wanted a couple of the things in it so does anyone fancy this:

1/24 scale Simca 1000.

IMG_9906.jpeg.36a49a8c7061b720a0f21cde50946bd7.jpeg

Not my chosen scale so not a keeper for me. It’s some sort of older partwork model and seems very similar in the way it’s made to Bburago sort of stuff. It’s still got its original blister box which is a bit battered but looks like it’s for an Italian partwork given all the writing on it.
The doors etc still had the little tape things on to hold them all shut when I got it, which you can still see the sticky residue of in the pic of the open door. A bit of white spirit shifts it easy enough though.
It’s actually a pretty nice little thing! Odd car type to model too.

Anyone fancy it for £10 posted??

Never found one yet that wasn't jammed up!

A nice enough idea, but despite the substantial development costs even Corgi quickly twigged that it wasn't worth the hassle of making the mechanical models - they were phased out from 1959, with the non-mechanised versions outselling them by 3:1.

Seems that your Jaguar 2.4 was the first Corgi Toy to be produced in a metallic paint finish - top job, that's a good match.

That Golf is really nice, I don't normally get sidetracked by the RLC stuff but I was quite tempted by that one!

Did the Matchbox Moving Parts Rover SD1 from last year have tampo printed top struts under the bonnet, or am I hallucinating that?

I'll check when I get home later.
