That's pure 1980s, that one... I had one in 1984!

In fact... I still have it - though rather the worse for wear.

There's a photograph somewhere of me on the beach in Portrush with said Sierra, brand new out of the box.

About ten minutes after the pic was taken, it got sat on in a cafe and the light bar broken off.

You can just imagine the tears...

Still, it clearly received plenty of play afterwards...I also had a red version which ended up in a similar state with no bootlid etc, and much later I had a really nice metallic grey version, which I sold on here two years back (and now regret, naturally).

20180610_211905.thumb.jpg.fc0f15566acebb18da390ee09f1fb844.jpg

Note the incorrect-era Scalextric numberplates I applied, which ultimately annoyed me more than it should have done...

One thing I could never understand though, was why Corgi added tipping seats to a 5-dr car?

Corgi_Ford_Sierra_2.3_Ghia_BRSCC_4.thumb.jpg.d85ab58499edd233723fe873997a9244.jpg

You need to restore it AS style. Find a Corgi Doner Sierra, preferably in Red or Blue. An swap the bootlid off it to yours. Sorted!

Probably one of Dinky's trippier models... hey, it was the tail-end of the '60s...

A fairly decent example turned up on one of the tat stalls back in March too, though sans giraffe - now held over for Jon.

Bizarrely I have the giraffe type thing that’s sat in the drivers seat, I’ve had it for years in my spares box, never knew what it was from.

Took a chance and bid on something that just said '2 cars' and had one crappy photo from above.

For £1.20 and free postage, I think I did OK.

Also does this refer to the casting, or did the guy that made the moulds decide to initial it?

Got these two Husky Angular vans, one of which will be getting a makeover - wonder why they bothered changing the rear door casting?

The seller said it had never been out of the box - he was'nt lying either.

The original price of £29.95 was still on the box. I had to pay a fair bit more than that.

Are they the two with the front bumper corners off both sides?

Each one has an opposite corner missing - had one for ages and got a new one the other day. Seem to be quite easy to find but often broken on the bumper

I thought this must be one of the most half-hearted BTCC replicas, but then I saw that they also did it in the black Texaco livery. There's also a BMW in the colours of Will Hoy's car when he won the championship, but they didn't have an M3 so they used a 525 ?

Yeah I’ve got the white one and the black Texaco. I’ve also the XR4i in black and the powder blue one as well.

My mate Tim at primary school had the Texaco Cossie. I suspect it ended up ruined as he was a terrible driver.

I've got the white Superkings Cosworth, purchased in the last year or so to replace the one I had as a kid.

I also got my yellow Corgi 1/36 one down from the loft with that promotional box. It's a nice thing to have indeed.

Today's arrivals. Including another Safrane.

Datsun is pretty cool too.

Also nearly finished the smaller scale BX. I'm not sure on the wheels, but was limited in choice by what would fit. I also wonder whether black bumpers would work better.

My Brother had this Sierra when we were kids. My Mum and Dad made the mistake of taking us into a massive Toy Shop on Holiday in Dorset. After an hour, He got the BTCC Sierra and I got a Corgi Mercedes 190 Taxi. Both sadly long gone, although I have brought myself another Taxi.

I'm while I've got the Merc out, might as well get my 1:36 Sierra to go with it's smaller twin.

It's obviously very basic, but will be a fun thing to paint up. Scale looks spot on to go with the Mehari.

That looks cracking; great stuff! When the casting's that good, simple is best... Really becoming attracted to these earlier Impys; such a pity they never sold in big quantities.

Nice... that 190E is such a good rendering, even if Corgi could have maybe tried a bit harder to clean the castings up before painting (my silver civilian version is similarly ragged). But beige is always good... excellent choice from your younger self!

I'm keeping a weather eye out for both of these...
