Hold it lads I have an idea.

Yes I'll have the Luxembourg Chev.

Will paint it black and dress it up in homage to Cleavon Little, 'Super Soul'

Sorry to make you work for it.

Hang on, why am I sorry.  You caused all this ?

Another top report there.

I was tempted by the Camaro as I've always fancied one. Glad it was a bit too damaged for either you or I and was snapped up anyway.

Hmm... £2 confusion.  I could have him on false advertising!

Yes to Adams for £5.

No to Minissima and Lotus Submarine if not £2

Arggghh..  but I have two Luxembourgs already.  Last one was just £4 at a show.  For £2 yes I would.   I just wanted to dip the body and plonk Radio 1 Roadshow stickers on it, especially as the battery door is missing.

I know, I bring this on myself!

Cool, so Adams and Radio van, if still there. Loving the Super Soul concept...

I'll see what the craic is with the Esprit and Minissima; he did seem unnecessarily grumpy earlier, but then his stock's not really shifting soooo... maybe he'll be open to offers.

I'm happy to go with your judgement as to values and if the Rover is worth it or not,

Sure thing - I had a brief look on eBay there, and it seems a fiver is about the going rate these days for a played-with Triplex SD1 - will look at it in more detail and see if it seems okay for the money!

Yeah, and while on eBay I made the mistake of checking Camaro prices, and it turns out I'm an idiot.

More from the Neddy Slowbart stable... I overheard Market Blokey conversing with another punter, saying he'd do all four of these for £20.

Personally, I've never managed to get beyond the betrayal of finding out that my Corgi Classics AEC truck, for which I had diligently saved my pocket money for months, was naught but a sham and a fanfaronade.

Stobart never used these; they only ran a solitary four-wheel Guy Invincible and a couple of Thames Traders when they started up in the the 1960s, when they were primarily involved in hauling industrial waste from steelworks. They didn't expand into the haulage behemoth they are today until the 1980s, so the vast majority of the 'heritage' Stobart models on the market are unmitigated bollocks - made up to fleece the nice folks from the Stobart Fan Club who would probably buy a dead badger if it was painted red, white and green.

Just did an actual ROFL at the idea of a Stobart dead badger as it's so true! I take great delight in buying decent models ruined with Stobart livery and 'upcycling' them into something else or committing acts of sacrilege according to the fan club. My windowsill is starting to look worryingly like a Stobart depot as there are so many sat there awaiting their fate. 20 quid for those four Tatlas Editions isn't a bad price but I don't need any more.

Guts appear to be battery-corrosion free, anyway.

Can't wait to see this in KOW livery!

Sadly, he wasn't budging on the price of the Minissima or the Bond Esprit (which is missing its rockets but seems otherwise functional with spring-out fins, stabilisers etc all present and correct).

The '£2' sign had also been removed from the box. It was not, apparently, meant to be in there.

He's definitely doting if he wants a fiver for some very humdrum Corgi Juniors that are no better than 50p box grade...

The man's an enigma. But he might change his tune next week, hey? Just seemed a smidge mardy today, despite the fact I keep stuffing tenners into his hand.

Oh, and the Corgi Range Rover has a damaged roof and glazing, with the o/s A-pillar cracked at the bottom. At a pound, or two at the outside, then mebbe.

But a fiver...

Could you get the SD1 and 240Z please. I sort of started a 70's Corgi collection ages ago and anyway I think I've got 4 or 5 different SD1s so I should add a racer.

Tragically, the 240Z had already gone BUT I did pick the Rover up, which it turns out is in fairly good nick after all - glazing, stickers and wheels are generally good, and paint isn't bad - bar the blue printing on the roof.

Good stuff - will try to grab the blue one for you next week.

They're actually both by Bburago, and not Maisto as I'd hastily thought.

Blue one is definitely the better of the two - green example is missing a headlight and wiper, and has a gammy wheel.

If it's still there on Tatman's next trip, can he grab the Tyrell p34 for me?

Y'know, when I asked about this last week, he told me all the seventies Corgi F1 stuff had been sold.

Clearly not, as while I was guddling for Rovers in the behind-the-stall-box - there was the same tray, with the same cars.

So this is yours.

Also looking for a bright green Focus ST in diecast for him, anyone have anything?

20191115_153021.thumb.jpg.f4d547043f5316ab57a80ec27e1d59b6.jpg

Not in terrific condition, and probably not worth a fiver, BUT I have a dim plan to maybe strip this one and repaint it red like the Dyane my parents owned in the late '70s.

I have no idea what the Napoleonic duck is all about.

20191115_153029.thumb.jpg.75fcac51d95c8862e5b210c78788948a.jpg

I also wouldn't fancy my chances towing much with one of these...

So! I think that just about wraps up today's tatfest - cheers to all!

I paid twenty odd quid for my bond esprit from a toy fair - no box and no rockets. However the paint was immaculate and the plastic had not yellowed which most do.

I am resisting the urge to want that mirror blue whizzwheels Toyota 2000.

I already have one but like the mauve whizzwheels Rover 2000 they just seamed such fun toys when I was eleven.

Love Dinky toys as I do they seemed more 'worthy' (like the difference between 'Look in' and a 'Tell me why' kids magazines).

There's a new* diecast forum on Drivetribe, go to the hobbies section and find "live and let diecast"

It's a bit American centric, but I'm on there educating them with autoshite grade offerings.

Live and let diecast also do a terrible podcast.

Indeed - strange that Corgi swapped to 'standard' Whizzwheels on the front only; the mags all round do look a bit better.

I've only seen the Adams Drag-Star in the 1971/72 catalogue, when it was a 'forthcoming release' showing mags all round - I really must hit up eBay and fill in my mid-70s Corgi catalogues (I've got 1976 to 1988 right through, but only a tatty '71/72 for earlier stuff).

In fact, looking through the '71 cat, the vast majority of the Corgis on the tat stall all seem to date from around this 1972 period. Just a shame I haven't seen any Marina Coupés or Cortina GXLs in there...

Ah, was that an original set of transfers by Corgi?

I'd thought they'd been stuck on by a previous owner, from some random sticker set featuring anthropomorphic dictators, mebbe... yes, if they're the real deal then I'll happily remove them with care and send them over to you. Assuming I ever get the finger out to do the repaint, of course... ?

Holey moley, not only Bigfoot/Toofgib, but also Orange Blossom and Black Gold... for £12 the lot, that's a decent enough price...

I'd not realised that 'Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines' wasn't even a series - just a single feature-length pilot episode, later chopped up into four episodes and broadcast erratically at various points in the children's tv segments over the years... the fact I can remember the theme tune and everything made me think it must have been on for a while. But no. Clearly it just had a disproportionate impact on me!

If anyone has any in other colours that aren't here to sell or trade please let me know.I know there are dark grey, metallic purple, and possibly yellow versions out there.

Those look amazing.... never seen the pale blue version before.

I know there's a metallic purple version shown in in of the Corgi catalogues, but I've yet to see one in the metal. Will keep an eye out for you!

I haven't shown you this lot in detail, got them off a local guy for £20.

Mostly to replace ones in worse condition, very happy with what I got for the money!

Once I get a day off I can go through them individually

Oh, nice! That's a helluva haul for the money; they all look pretty decent too. Great find!

New HW Impreza. This one is really nice, very accurate proportions.

One to look out for, definitely!

I'm really confused about how Mattel divvies up their models between Hot Wheels and Matchbox these days - I'd thought the idea was that Matchbox would focus on accurate scale models of real-life cars, while Hot Wheels would go for the wild fantasy and hotrod stuff, but then there's the Matchbox Banana Car thing and this...

Oh well, it's all good!!
