Nicely done Tim.

Glad that ones gone to someone I know....

Well now, I don't necessarily plan on holding on to models forever... so if I'm ever looking to move it on (and you've got the space!) you'll certainly have first refusal.

That should be all paid and whatnot now - cheers!

Payment received, appreciated!

I'm now down to one Minichamps model. My mum, for some reason, bought me a Volvo V70 Police car for my 13th birthday...limited run for the UK importer (Amerang?), which obviously can't be sold. Ever.

I've now decided to focus on weird Mebetoys and Polistil/Politloys, and the odd crossover models branded as hot wheels of the former.

That V70 sounds lush - UK Battenberg livery, by any chance?

I had a few of those Hot Wheels branded Polistils as a kid, now you mention them - a white Karmann Golf cabrio and a blue Chevrolet Corvette stick in my mind, for some reason. Also - a Fiat Uno? Unless I'm getting it confused with a Bburago 1/43 version...

Phew. That's it. I'm keeping the Herpa Range Rover, the Wiking VW 411 & Eko Opel Kadett.

To explain, I spent £13 in total on these models.

Any money up to £13 (ex postage) I will keep. Any profit will be donated back to the Forum. However after a couple of weeks I will do some personal ebay listings for the models I don't want to keep and no-one here wants.

I'll take the EKO 190SL and the Eko-Cola lorry if I may please...Ta!

There was a Hot Wheels Uno, both 1/25 and 1/43. I've got the latter incoming, and the former will be a payday purchase.

Aha - in that case, I think I might have had both - the 1/24 was a delightful shade of brown, and had odd sticker graphics of a green elephant all over it, and to my recollection it came back from Spain or somewhere via my grandparents c.1986 or so.

I tried to remove the transfers but the residue made it all sticky and, after an ill-advised jaunt through the sandpit, was never quite the same again... the wheels were quite detailed but fragile, as I recall.

The 1/43 was red, and survived longer but I can't remember if it had rally stickers or not. I had a lot of red Fiats, it seems (Bbuago Tipo and Panda).

EDIT: yes, this was the exact one!

Noted.

I'll keep a list on here and PM people in a couple of days

Mercrocker = EKO 190SL & EKO Cola lorry = £2.25 + postage

^^^ Those are all very nice... although sadly also exactly what I've been moving on lately!

However, the majority of my larger Corgi and 1/24 Bburago found new homes, so hopefully yours will too.

One of the other traders at my recent car boot sales was looking a tenner for that Rover 800 police car, so that all seems very fairly priced.

GLWTS!

Oh, and Mrs Rocker has asked me to point out that the grubby sofa is in fact in our conservatory and is where I repose between bouts of oily frustration.....

I hadn't even spotted that,

I was too busy admiring that garage and muttering "lucky sod" to myself and only went back to see after it was mentioned!

Just shows the difference between the male and female mind

Anything else of interest in that skip?

Thought as I've brought a couple of the 1:87 vehicles that egg kindly offered up for sale here. I'd share a few pictures of part of my 1:87 collection / addiction which has quickly gone from a handful to about 170 vehicles in recent years when I last counted!

There is a mix of Makers, by Herpa, Busch, Rietze  AWN, Praline and Norev.

To start with here some of my Fords.

The first is a pair of Escort MK5's made by Busch. The one on the left was the first 1:87 car I ever brought from a Model Train Shop that used to be in Lichfield when I was a kid now sadly long gone.

I've added the Alloy style wheels to it as the original wheels kept falling off. The one on the right I recently brought as it has a open sunroof and seamed like I need both in my life. The Estate version is by Rietze.

Herpa Ford Capri, which they claim is a S model when it's stamped a Ghia on the chassis and lacks a boot spoiler. Still nice though.

Just had another delivery of unnecessary miniature shite purchases, most of which will be squirreled away from Mrs_Jon's eyes.

First up, a Bulgarian issued Mercedes 350SL in a great communist spec shade of yellow:

Now well into my thirties, I have the disposable income to be able to rectify childhood wrongdoings and this one spans back to sometime in the early 1980's, when getting one of these bought for me from a toy shop in Hornsea, after I'd carefully selected one of these from a spinny perspex cabinet filled with the 75 current Superfast Matchboxes. Chosen purely because I liked it in the metallic blue as displayed, I remember being very disheartened when the shop owner produced a maroon one but the grumblings of a young child were dismissed by all adults present, so that's what I ended up with. Naturally, the windscreen lasted days, to rub salt into the wounds.

43115847644_721250bc8e_b.jpg

To further my much awaited moral victory, I also picked up this one in an even more excellent communist green - reminds me so much of 1970's/80's Skodas and Trabants but is also a very fitting 1970's Mercedes shade. Got in a bidding war on this one and splashed out  £3.11, whereas the yellow one was only £1.30. After such decadent bidding, I let the metallic violet one go that was also on offer, as it went north of both of these.

I'll understand if fellow micro-connoisseurs of this thread want to banish me for actively buying Lledo products in 2018 but I'd totally forgotten about these and the subjects and packaging are much more nostalgic than the Days Gone stuff (to someone born in the 80's, anyway). Ghana bus was 52p and fraught bidding war ensued to snare the Gatwick one, for £1.02.

43115836624_dd86d04d53_z.jpg

Here's how they look out of the boxes - LOL at half-arsed 'grille' of the Gatwick one but the full length smoked windscreen is excellent. Are these based on real coaches? The lorries in the range were based on Leyland Constructors, btw.

43115832754_8817a816c6_z.jpg

Quite incredibly, a mere 52p also netted this Schuco branded Opel Tigra, replete with scruffy Bulgarian issued box.

43784681532_3f0f2dfa5b_z.jpg

Saw the back of the box and immediately thought of Split_Pin! Incidentally, see the miniature tat sale thread in the open forum, where the same seller had some Bulgarian Superkings issued in the same boxes (presumably without the Opel montage on the back).

43832450021_cafaa1c721_z.jpg

Then since no-one else was bothered to bid on them, I picked up two other unboxed ones for 52p a pop, too. One had a loose seat back but was fixed in literally 30 seconds, thanks to the base being assembled with a phillips screw.

Full expenditure including postage was £12.71, so I reckon I did OK. If anyone wants to bid on any NZ stuff in the future, I'll happily throw in a gold Tigra to the pile for 52p.

I remember Lledo Marathons, their half-hearted attempt at going modern. The Gatwick coach appears to be based on a Neoplan Spaceliner, an odd choice as this was the only one ever sold in the UK. No idea what the other one is supposed to be though.

Carrying on from the Lledo discussion in the other thread, here are the best things they never made. Remember the Cargo Kings 1/76 Volvo FH and Kenworth trucks? Just before Lledo went bust they were intending to expand this range with an Iveco and an ERF and I got hold of these pre-production resin samples a couple of years ago.

Missed opportunity by Adam Floyd, on Flickr

Yes, after years of churning out crap Lledo finally came up with something decent that would have sold like hotcakes, only to go bust before they went into production. Rather than confining them to a display case I decided to make up for Lledo's missed opportunity and had some copies cast by a friend. The results are rather pleasing.

Thought I'd add a few more 1:87 pics of some Opel / Vauxhall models.

First off some Corsa A/ Nova's by Herpa. The saloon I've changed the wheels on to make it look more base.

A pair of Corsa B's in 5dr and 3dr by Herpa. I once owned a Corsa Identical to the Red one hence my buying it. I have the Corsa GSI and the Tigra too somewhere.

A Vectra A saloon by Herpa and a Calibra by Rietze. The Vectra I've addded some Alloy style accessory wheels that remind me of TSW's from a Herpa wheel kit which cost me a decent sum but was well worth it I reckon!

post-3802-0-08827400-1533393256_thumb.jpg

Here is my other Vectra A hatch on a car Trailer by Busch, the tow vehicles are a Wiking Mercedes 208 Van with some added detail and a wheel change.

The other is a Mitsubishi Shogun 5dr also by Wiking.
