This was a decent find for £2

Late Matchbox bus isn't a bad effort, but the centre pillar being part of the glazing bugs me somewhat

Yes and a very odd approach to pricing. Loads of nice commercials which he sold to me for not a lot, but a box full of mostly AA liveried Corgi Juniors was £30. I fished out the two Toe Joes and one US Van and left the rest

I've never found one of those Matchbox Garages with the doors intact, same as the green Matchbox VW Camper.

A while back I got a flimsy Simca Vedette Norev knock off. I did some web surfing and went down a rabbit hole.

This was an interesting find about full scale Simcas in Hong Kong https://chinacarhistory.com/2021/09/21/the-simca-vedette-and-china/

Then I found this (Codeg Berliet Auto Carrier Car Transporter Friction)  https://jkdiecastmodels.com/products/codeg-3746l-berliet-auto-carrier-car-tran-sporter-8-cars-boxed-friction-toy-hong-kong

So that must be it only a different colour?

DSC_5838_79132919-6bbd-4b38-8e1d-5d1b29992157.webp.f820da9da0377cd39efd924293ccd722.webp

But now I've just stumbled across this https://autojauneblog.fr/tag/simca-chambord/

Look at that caravan!

simca_chambord_codeg_15.webp.1a4dfc21416ad02887bec8537e5b6674.webp

So now I guess it's this version because the colour matches, but not the base and interior.

Some pics of mine.

I guess it's a Codeg. So still a knock off Norev so kind of what I thought.

It looks about 1:64 to me, bigger than the 1:76 Oxford wrecker and about the right size for the small yellow Corgi Transit to fit on.

Hey @bunglebus, I've a feeling you have/had the other part of that black Golf, which came as a twin pack:

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRL2RTAkVV-ULwI1_192W8

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/275293282820

I got mine about 1984/5, which I reckon ties up with the card style.

I'm not totally convinced a Golf is the best candidate for towing a loaded double horse box, but an earlier version coupled a Golf with a twin axle caravan, so they must be stout little load luggers.

Matchbox Superfast 43a Pony Trailer

Whether or not I kept it, I don't know. Oddities like trailers, caravans and the more commercial type of vehicles tend to be the first in line when I'm feeling ruthless

Scored well here today too on a bootsale mooch. Not quite fantastic tin plate trucks and Terrahawks Rolls lucky, but lots of £1 tub’s goodness - shame the seller was putting them away as I rifled through some poor old giffers lovely collection, now in the auction crates it was likely sold off in 🥲

I can see so much I missed now - minishitters remorse 😉

Just look at those decals! I do want to collect them all - who wouldn't want 8 Million Dollar Leige and Big Mike? Did you happen pick up the Hong Kong police transit (the rear end is shown in you last photo, as circled)?

Made by C'sm (I believe they usually made bus models) and are possibly the only 1/43 scale 1995 - 2000 Ford Transit mk3.5 (Smiley grille) models to exist. All were LWB, with 2 different roof height (medium & high roof) versions produced.

They were released in various Hong Kong police liveries, some UK police force liveries were modelled as well (Cambridgeshire, Northumbria & London Metropolitan police force liveries from my hazy memory) There were also some vans produced in Amtrak & Citylink courier company liveries.

(Boxed models with certs etc sell for around £50-£60 plus on ebay)

There are some of those Sze Toy custom vans back here

But no Star Angels or Big Mike, as I’m better now

@matt79 Bugger! No I didn’t, the fella was loading his van and I kinda interrupted him! I picked it up but mistook it for a Russian Transitiski partwork. I did fish one finely crafted £1 oddity out though as I’d never seen one - I’m hoping it can be rescued!
I think i’ve seen these before, but only ever in faded cellophane boxes for much £££ at toy fairs. This one oddly has metallic blue base that looks factory despite being burgundy underneath? Were there two once?
