Yesterday's 1:1 car show and autojumble had much more to offer than the toy fair the previous weekend, I could have bought far more than this lot:

IMG_1462.JPG.9bcc08f91b60e12cdd770f94ebe02f09.JPG

Star buys were probably these two for £1 each:

IMG_1463.JPG.0804a5c73647133fac998c40cb5bc6fb.JPG

Another seller had a Siku Citroen SM, but they wanted £10.

IMG_1465.JPG.2711afca320bab373a32706c574d05d3.JPG

Great to get such a tidy example of one of the big Majorette trucks, with a rather fancy horsebox.

IMG_1466.JPG.61e124d7a317b71ae798aa69dae9ea29.JPG

I have a couple of 3dr Majorette 5s but the 5dr has somehow evaded me until now. Solido version goes nicely with the random French things I have in 1/43.

IMG_1464.JPG.520ca4304ed22d0ba754b53414f1fb6b.JPG

Catalogue not cheap at £5, but it marks what they had in the range in the year I was born.

Good to see the garage I got last weekend as it should be. Quite a bit I'm missing.

And on the subject of garages....

IMG_1264.JPG.a58d3c8c47b09594d60e543375f83f2f.JPG

This was very nice, but I couldn't justify spending that much.

I had the matchbox service station.

Is it a gold painted 270?

Seems to be they chose to paint a run of the the retool C270 in gold.  Not seen an announcement though?!  It was supposed to be 270 re-issued in two versions: silver bumpers/ grille for subscribers ;  gold bumpers/ grille through the online shop

Bit of a mixed bag today, lots of choice but all the good stuff was at less than bargain prices.

50p for this even as a donor is alright though

However I got my pants pulled down here - first box I started rummaging in was absolutely full of correct era Matchbox, bought far too many tatty ones and gave an extra £2 for this - only realising later it's got a couple of rather glaring faults...

Let me know if you've got enough Cubs @Datsuncog. Think I've sent you a version of this but it's very tidy, and devoid of Corgi lettering on the base

Very much interested in the 340 for my Volvo collection if it is included as one of the many. Never seen that before.

About two years ago I fell down a massive Norev 3 inch hole and have been unable to get out since.

I think I have around 150/160 now, as it stands. And all because my mum bought me a C3 back in 2003 when she was getting her full sized one new at the Citroen dealer, I guess I really have fallen for the nostalgia trap.

Latest arrivals (from a guy in NL who has chronicled them all):

PXL_20240609_210658173.jpg.eb0cb9dcc92d41f4af90494c4eb20549.jpg

Yeah a six pack with a Xsara Picasso and Cayenne in...because of course.

The best was this:

PXL_20240609_210715007.jpg.efa54dfcdfc138ce634075a9031c94a5.jpg

Some of them aren't quite the same scale as others but it's not terribly bothersome.

LATE ALERT!  Lol... I did already mention that the car didn't survive the one episode it was in.  But thank you for the pics.  You've reminded me that I need to add the waistline brightwork.

Ah but there were two cars used for filming.  Both painted that non-standard blue and both GL trim, or made up to be

The arse-shunt car wears ‘72 facelift hubcaps, the upside down car doesn’t

The facelift car has had the grille swapped over (or cloned) with the earlier car, as inset chrome blacked out

All so nutters like me can yell at the screen 37 years later

I've got a few of these too. Peugeot 407s, Citroens including the Xsara Picasso I also now have a C4 estate as recently purchased in Belgium.

A few recent finds, the Dinky's were from a local car boot and the Tri-Ang from the local hospice shop

A guy who stalls out at one of the local retro/antique fairs showed me pics of a box of 70s and 80s promo VW dealership toys, i bought off him without seeing them in the flesh so to speak,  i'll post a few pics once i've collected them!

I get the impression too many charity shops aren't actually bothered about selling stuff like this, but whether that's because they're greedy or just clueless I'm less sure. Whoever priced that clearly hasn't made any effort to read the market and stating 'no negotiation' is guaranteed to put off anyone who might have been vaguely interested so it'll sit there forever and make them nothing. It annoys me too when I see things like that Escort van that would be worth more because they're boxed, except they've ruined the box by sticking the price label on it.

Exactly. Stuff in charity shops is all donated so the charity got it for free and whatever they sell it for is 100% profit. Charities ripping people off is worse than businesses doing it because you know they paid nothing for that stuff and they're supposed to be non-profit organisations.

That's a very apt LOL, there.

I picked this one up at a car boot sale at York Racecourse in 2022:

Screenshot_20240611_203721_Gallery.jpg.d6c1b5f86ce01d738371cecce3917d5f.jpg

In amongst a load of uninteresting (to me) 1980's issued Corgi Routemasters, this was much more to my tastes.

Screenshot_20240611_203738_Gallery.jpg.8e6cb3c9e9ab8d5dc64f81740c0b0aa7.jpg

Lovely lustre still, after a half century of existing.

Screenshot_20240611_203729_Gallery.jpg.1be95872e9588b7aab5edbc2ceb034e6.jpg

Present was the (presumably quite bawdy) clippy.

Better still, it was boxed:

Screenshot_20240611_203714_Gallery.jpg.d7703471fbeaebad2fd273926dd439b7.jpg

And even better still, it cost £4. Lovely stuff.

Well it seems not all charity shops are created equally. Not only did I get loads of old Matchbox and Corgis for £5, in the next shop I spotted the track set, in the mintest box I've ever seen. Not gone through it but I think it's all in there, and WAY below eBay prices...PXL_20240611_103107948.jpg.ad8c2be2c59957a0187728843adb78de.jpg
