Market Blokey was just turfing a load of Days Gone, Solido Age d'Or and assorted magazine partwork models out onto the stall as I grooved up:

IMG_20240202_0724292.thumb.jpg.64882cae6c837875c092b14201c6a55e.jpg

Quite a few Beetles again today; the red one was much more finely modelled than the weirdly flabby white one.

IMG_20240202_0746102.thumb.jpg.ecfc0975b136ca7041679a296a1d4cec.jpg

A solitary Hong Kong bus, too.

IMG_20240202_0746152.thumb.jpg.00bb33807fcd9febeb8bb3a9023e0a70.jpg

And a still-boxed Majorette Range Rover fire tender with trailer.

IMG_20240202_0753162.thumb.jpg.c58f8fcf7206b23db707275543960ace.jpg

After a huge glut last year, we really haven't seen all that many buses, have we?

IMG_20240202_0752302.thumb.jpg.7d16205329a72cad07752cb2f6375783.jpg

Apparently dealer-boxed Saab 93 cabrio was around 1/72 scale - no manufacturer stated; I thought it was maybe by Hongwell but now I'm not so sure.

But it was the big suitcase of tat that really drew my eye, as ever...

IMG_20240202_0731052.thumb.jpg.02e536668a7455a9de675de0e1d63cae.jpg

Fair mix of old and new, big and little.

IMG_20240202_0745492.thumb.jpg.f0842cd059ef1ef758b6d5a9fee2639e.jpg

Blue Hong Kong pick-up is a Dinky-branded version from around 1980.

IMG_20240202_0745582.thumb.jpg.cdc46aef0c71b97aec482d309ee39e02.jpg

Corgi Pinder Circus trailer was clean, and another Lesney AEC Ergomatic fire appliance just too late to join in with the Ergo madness:

IMG_20240202_0731522.thumb.jpg.16f3145c918392acfdd58672258c043f.jpg

The big tinplate thing below was an oddity:

IMG_20240202_0731122.thumb.jpg.c4d4b5383588181190627f7348bf5f5e.jpg

'Titan Trucks' - some sort of Tonka competitor?

Someone's clearly believed it to be valuable...

IMG_20240202_0731222.thumb.jpg.0431b7ca8097c05baf601d79e31dfd77.jpg

Ha. Yeah, no.

But of course, The Nemesis had pulled out some very nice-looking plums...

IMG_20240202_0732502.thumb.jpg.354dc5e54e25493a9f2c53bdb359f6c3.jpg

Bburago 1/24s in Porsche 911, Mercedes S Class and Datsun 240Z flavour - all annoyingly missing quite a lot of bits.

Some spirited hoking through the bottom of the suitcase did uncover the Datsun's bonnet and a wheel off the Septic peelermobile (Ford Crown Vic?)

And a load of Corgi Transits.

IMG_20240202_0732472.thumb.jpg.68f6daf8020d6724397b8696957f0d16.jpg

Nice.

The red Saab is a New Ray, I have the 1/43 version. If this one is no more than a fiver could you lift it please?

But that wasn't all... Nemesis passed me over a paper towel-wrapped bundle, with a casual "if you're interested..."

IMG_20240202_0741472.thumb.jpg.7badbf2311ef63e11d0296539d41f3a9.jpg

Ooh. I've never seen one of those before. Corgi Whizzwheels Marcos in white, with waterslide transfers.

It is, apparently, a bit of a rare one.

It has been monkeyed about with, sadly - the base has been drilled off and glued back on, the paintwork has been touched up with a not-very-close match, and bizarrely the doors have also been glued shut.

But it's available, at £10.

I demurred with thanks, but said I'd be happy to pop it up online to see if anyone else fancied it.

So, if you do - sing out, and I'll be happy to secure it for you!

Before long, he scooped his finds and left for the day...

IMG_20240202_0746302.thumb.jpg.fa27f3c4a21ee06357589b52dc4b345f.jpg

(The Lesney Bedford CA was really very lovely, a top find - not that I'm jealous)

Other vehicular-adjacent tat on the stall included a Marina handbook...

IMG_20240202_0747272.thumb.jpg.9ca7cbd16f3159830913ab3b4e208584.jpg

Dated 1979, and if LZX1507 is the numberplate, then I think it's from the Republic of Ireland.

IMG_20240202_0748062.thumb.jpg.b707a5b6f345025a89fdc04f635501f0.jpg

Police Federation magazine sadly had less rozzer shite visible than might be hoped...

IMG_20240202_0750372.thumb.jpg.df5c272388dbc6fbb5be6d8ad337de3d.jpg

Though did have this stylised illustration on an ad for, amongst other things, 'siege blankets'.

IMG_20240202_0751002.thumb.jpg.96f701961928c6c320e81be7a171bc07.jpg

Taking a spin round the other stalls, the Irish Tat Stall had a few new things, including this Oxford Diecast Friary Cresta PA:

IMG_20240202_0802272.thumb.jpg.bf708fb1479572985ad6c683e4f50040.jpg

And some more Greenlight stuff:

IMG_20240202_0802352.thumb.jpg.099201ec7ad634fbfa1c37e47a9e2579.jpg

Bay VW was kinda nice, I reckon.

IMG_20240202_0802353.thumb.jpg.7e35fd39767e509f9cfb3031fad12895.jpg

The Charity Stall had nothing much of interest beyond some strangely wet spatulas...

IMG_20240202_0913482.thumb.jpg.26f0e86e26e522399e7cd83a4ed6759b.jpg

so I sloped off for some sustenance and picture-wrangling...

The Mini Marcos GT850 was originally #341, in metallic red and fitted with Golden Jacks, produced 1968-70 and selling 636k units.  Golden Jacks were withdrawn in 1970 as the focus was Whizzwheels.

658767.webp.2b05f0c808a87411d56362fdd351a787.webp

It reappeared in 1972 in white with red, white & blue stripes. It had firm suspension and Whizzwheels, with new reference #305.  It sold poorly and was retired the same year.

I think I might know the @FakeConcern interest in the Whizzwheels Mini Marcos!

The rarest Mini Marcos to get (or to replicate) is the last of the line blue with red interior Whizzwheels version.

Which was only ever released as part of Gift Set 20 for late 1971, with the Scammell Tri-Deck Transporter

I’ve stopped bothering with our local Entertainer as it hasn’t restocked since before Xmas. No moving parts either. Could try Meadowhall but I avoid that place like the plague, I might send the wife.

So after a slurp of coffee and the customarily sticky caramel-chocolate flapjack, I moseyed back over again to see what was what, and hopefully secure a New Ray Saab 93 for no more than a fiver...

Sadly, I had to scarper off around 9.15 to get myself home and logged on. Very tedious stuff.

Will do my best if they show up again next week, or even on subsequent weeks - we all know how these wares can disappear for months and then suddenly reappear again!

@Datsuncog was there a price on the Oxford Cresta Friary?  I'd really like one, if it's going to be something I can afford.  And assuming it's 1/43.

I think that £23.99 sticker is the stallholder's.
