Not for me thanks, but you could put that one aside for the other Eddy, as it matches the outfit:

I'm hoping you meant me.... :)

@Datsuncog: At those prices, I'll take any-and-all PA Crestas, Ford Granadas or mk3 Zephyrs please.

Another Greenlight 1/64 today!

Chevy C70 ‘Kodiak’ tipper. Lovely detail on this too. Tipper section would probably look a bit better weathered to take that plasticky look off but I do like these.

I have a spare Volvo 240, yours for what I paid £2.40 plus postage?

Ooh, yes please! Do you want me to settle up or do you want to do a swap… I’ve got a little box going here with odd bits and bobs in it as I’ve been cleaning the loft out!

🤣 I’ll PM you this evening with a few pics!

Most of it is stuff I’ve found while doing the last clean out of boxes in the loft so hasn’t seen daylight in 20 odd years!

I actually unboxed something, shock horror

I definitely didn't buy both the ones they had, and open the one with a damaged card with the idea of making a new base for it. Oh no.

I like that it still has the flat four hanging out the back, might need some serious reduction gears to turn those monster meats!

My head's all pickled today.

First I forgot to take a picture of the view from the doorstep this morning; then I forgot to post a customary wrap-up pic before leaving this afternoon.

It's been quite a long week.

But, behold:

IMG_20230915_1419463.thumb.jpg.98c693540636e2b969618de655fee539.jpg

Not so much a day for utter tat, in the best tradition - but there were some interesting items at a fairly reasonable price, I hope you'll agree!

I'll decant these into their assorted tat boxes when I get a chance - everything's somewhat jumbled at present, as the renovations rumble on, with beds in the kitchen and clothes in the sunroom and tat in the... bath, I think.

So, despite assorted tribulations - it's good when Tat Friday still comes through.

Happy Friday, kids.

I've got a couple of Roadsters and the pre-facelift ForTwo in red and blue but didn't know they did a facelifted version too. Not yet found the ForFour or Crossblade going cheap though.

Guy still had them- £1 for the three

The Saph is a Schabak bought for @andrew e. I'll let him reveal it but here's the back - lovely Regency Red Sapphire that reminds me of my dad's same colour GLS

I reckon the later issue of the Mk1 Dinky Transit was the best looking one. Less play value than the earlier version but proportionally much more accurate.

The Mk2 version is also good, just a smidge too chiselled at the front.

Lovely stuff, regardless. Hope you got a fair deal, @bunglebus!

So I gathered together all the Corgi Junior transporter trailers with drawbars.I did cheat slightly ,as the 5th & 6th trailers don't have rear hooks.

Bargain, and I'll happily give them a new home.

Here's my collection as it currently stands. It looks like they changed the colours each year and facelifted the ForTwo alongside the real one, and the red ones I think are from the first year. One of the Roadsters has a damaged roof so I might try converting it to the open-top version, and the fire service ForTwo is a mod inspired by one a real UK brigade had (for publicity, not actual firefighting - imagine calling 999 to deal with an inferno and that turned up!)

Smarts.thumb.jpg.7b72326788b802dad1db3315dc88c4c2.jpg

In other miniature shite news, I went to the market this morning but didn't find anything interesting, just the usual infestation of Days Gone everywhere. The going rate for mint and boxed is £2 each or 3 for a fiver but still not a sniff of interest.

The good old infinite variation Corgi Juniors. Think I have more Regals than anything else, but the SDI, Sierra and US Van are up there too, around 15 of each

Here are a few bits seen at this morning's boot sale. There were also a handful of the Shabak dealer promotional Fords, Scorpio, Sapphire and Escort namely. Pics didn't come out great of those

Here's what I bought. In a change of pace, I only actually acquired three cars for myself, plus the little Smarts - and this which I thought someone might want for 50p?

It's a Tinstoys KaK, pullback. It was pretty minging inside and out so it's been apart for a bath already

20230916_094613.thumb.jpg.d43a8f00585f93889b6f03bd300ed30f.jpg

Everything else is mint and boxed - starting with one of the Majorette Model A vans that's definitely not copied from the Matchbox version.

20230916_142453.thumb.jpg.fc14827c67400f82c672cca561cbcd41.jpg20230916_142500.thumb.jpg.4a176a9cfb29746f087e06b36908fbf7.jpg

Next up, one of two Matchbox Superking XR4is that the guy had, box was better on this so I handed over £8 and ran away

On another stall with no other diecast whatsoever was this. I had an idea he was going to ask £20, so I countered with £15 and got it for £17. I definitely prefer the later casting with the single rear door and no ugly slider on the driver's side

Here’s a recent buy. With… a story!

It’s nothing exceptional. Just a Matchbox Cortina mk2. But, it’s in almost mint condition. Never been played with.
The story from the lady I got it from was back when these were new, her friends dad was the manager of a toy shop. Unfortunately the shop was destroyed in a big fire. Most of the stock was burnt to a crisp but everything that wasn’t fire damaged was soaked from the water used in fighting the fire.
Afterwards when the place was cleared all the old stock went into big skips with all the burnt building etc, but he went in and managed to save some of the best surviving toys before they were thrown out.
Which included this Cortina! Its box was a soggy mess but the car itself is perfect. Afterwards it was wrapped in tissue and put away in his loft. He recently passed away and now the family are cleaning out his things.

Yes I did over pay for it (but it wasn’t horrific pice!)but it really is lovely and came with a nice little back story too so I couldn’t say no.

Even the wheel treads have no wear and you can see that raised bit down the middles of each wheel from the mould. A shame it’s not boxed but it’s probably one of the absolute best condition models of that age I’ve got.

IIRC there's an unusual variation on those, think on some the line around the boot is raised, on some it's a depression.

Can't remember which is the rare one though!

These were still available!

Some variance between the wheels as depicted on the box and what's actually in the box, but these seem in fine fettle other than some light surface dust.

IMG_20230915_1254482.thumb.jpg.a4c092cca1df618620f5bdab6234493b.jpg

Handy that you say the Consul's only needed as a donor...

IMG_20230915_1254582.thumb.jpg.61bbe5de525e95ec346edf0370778a52.jpg

Wheels and spotlights are fine, but there's some damage to the front corner in several places, a wiper's been torn off, and it's filthy.

Plus the box is quite torn in places.

But - I guess it's cheap-ish, and it maybe doesn't raise the same moral quandary to tear into an already damaged model?

Oh yes!!!!

Aye, I remember back in the old days of Vanguards' when, as mentioned by MMMk3, usually the box art was of a rough prototype, it was always a nice surprise to find the model inside was much nicer finished and detailed and with far more accurately done wheels, as can be seen with the A35 and especially the Rover which, for one of the super early Enfield era Vanguards, has pretty well rendered early P6 trims modelled. Most Vanguards of that era had a pretty generic steelie and chrome hubcap combo.

The Consul is absolutely perfect for my needs. Consuls in rozzer spec are still relatively cheap compared to the civilian versions, but I've always been on the lookout for a dog eared sub-tenner example as I have an aversion to pulling apart a mint and boxed model. Still not sure what I'll be doing with it. With this one being in GT spec with front spots and GT steelies (as opposed to those weird wheels fitted on the prototype on the box!), I've always wanted to do a LeMans Green GT, as the one Vanguards modelled in a box set years ago were riddled with zinc pest and most have disintegrated. Or use as a donor for the spots and wheels for the Purple velvet Granada I have already (which lost its GT wheels long ago to a Daytona yellow Consul base model). My Onyx green Ghia could also do with a replacement baseplate as it was bent up at the front corner from new and had to be bent back. If I do strip it for parts, the remains (shell, interior, glass and slightly bent baseplate will be offered up for sale for £notmuch!

Thanks to Tim for going back to the market and getting these for me. I'll fire off some funds shortly.

Not often a Tat Friday has my name all over it, but this week's was a classic!
