Today's postal arrivals.

1st up, fat-wheel version of the MKIV Zodiac. Let me just say if there's one child's plaything I'd love to go back in time and eradicate, it's plasticine. This had loads of it stuffed in the engine bay and wheel wells, must have taken me an hour with petroleum jelly, a hairdryer and various implements to get most of it out. Only silver lining to the cloud was that it had kept the spare wheel in place

20230103_130810.thumb.jpg.13646bca12c0fb45410f5a763d7505d4.jpg

Plasticine was great for adding spoilers, wide arches and/or side pipes. After my dad took us to see the start of the World Cup Rally at Wembley I modified my MB Rolls Royce with over head exhausts.

I'll go now.

What a guess that was!😁
It just has that sort of Skoda-ish look about it. Hence the total guess. Just need to figure out who made that particular toy now.

Good luck with that. I've got this plastic behemoth that I kinda want to sell, but not until I work out who made it

Noted!

How do you know which ones are early? I don’t really know much about these tbh, me and some equally sad mates at school used to collect & trade them😄

I used to have a lot of them in the late 1980s and in the last 10 years I have built my collection back up from the sole survivor.  There are one or two that aren't genuine  Micro Machines though. If it says Galoob underneath then it's pre 1994, Hasbro thereafter. If it says neither then its not a Micro Machine.

Here’s a load more…

Anyone interested in or know about Micro Machines? I know one of the ones here is rare - the pink & blue Isuzu pickup.

Im almost positive I’ve got more of these somewhere.
There’s a load of the monster truck ones too.

I sold off most of my old micromachines last year, some stuff seems to make good money some got no interest! I got £38 on eBay for the blue international suv and caravan combo like in your pic

I think you could pick out the letters SKODA under the windscreen?

If the licence plate is TV 80-12 then it was made by VEB PLAHO at Steinach (East Germany), 1966-87

Today I fitted another (3rd) light in the loft as Mrs Concern has been asking me to do for ages and my reward was she got a box of models and two boxes of magazines (a different thread obv) out for me. A bit annoying as she obviously knew exactly where they were.

This was a bit disappointing as it contained all the boxes from my extensive Volvo C30 model collection and a load of half made/modified kits and toys and not any of my Matchbox cars or the Corgi SM or Corgi Lotus JPS Elite + F1 car I'd been hoping for...

However an interesting box of 1/48 planes including the Tempest of Pierre Clostermann a bit of a hero of mine...

IMG_5823.thumb.JPG.e73c8a840ee7a182ec5d3ee15ab92e15.JPG

A Raliegh TI bike...

Tamiya Minis including one I'd started to turn into a Clubman 1275GT...

IMG_5822.thumb.JPG.999f6aa93eddaebf381dda41e878d5af.JPG

Another fully made as Monte winner...

No sign of the Almond green one I built though...

IMG_5830.thumb.JPG.4a3feb65bc579c1761684b571b580a89.JPG

Should it have a back bumper? If so I better have a good look in the bottom of the box...

IMG_5831.thumb.JPG.c184851c4354a51c8d7021bcc414e311.JPG

Revell XR3 which I was obviously building to be model of the XR3i I owned at the time...

IMG_5826.thumb.JPG.3639050a3310cf3f2d1a8b957cde492a.JPG

It looks really nice, I may have to finish it off...

IMG_5827.thumb.JPG.1f28b41e376f8dd5ab55ffff752f6a75.JPG

Also  Burago 1/24 XR3 which I was converting to be my car before I got the Revell one. It had what looked like the boot spoiler from an RS1600i and I'd filed it off! Also cut a sun roof hole...

IMG_5829.thumb.JPG.ca377eefc4608dd03db4db1d6c8689b5.JPG

Bandai VW "Super Beetle" 1303S model I hadn't started to make. Unusual 1/20 scale...

IMG_5824.thumb.JPG.96f84d26d0e8be0e956ef23accf2bcd5.JPG

So not what I'd hoped for, but still fairly interesting and maybe some projects for the winter.

If anyone finds tiny cars with these wheels, I'm interested. This are the miniature Hot Wheels, there are a few other kinds but most are like this

I had quite a few, they went for mental money on eBay, a guy in America bought the lot.

I had a dig in the loft, uncovered many forgotten overspends! Not sure if I posted some of these previously.

Well done! That’s exactly what it says. I didn’t even know it said Skoda on the front! It’s very very faint but now you mentioned it, it is indeed there.
I’ve had that thing as long as I can remember and never knew who made it or what it was. It’s quite a nice truck imho. Unusual.

Excuse the potato cam phone pics but I was having a quick potter in the garage earlier this evening and took a peak at a couple of my recent UK acquisitions.

20230104_181912.thumb.jpg.f17b11f282bb7648e38f2f68ddb3047d.jpg

Yatming Scirocco is in nice nick, barring the collapsed front suspension.

20230104_183555.thumb.jpg.6ad00a6d70bfc990e438d471ec857d76.jpg

Found an old bit of rubber that I cut a strip from and stuffed in above the axle, which has done the trick.

20230104_183719.thumb.jpg.3758008251bbaf35eb42b7bd1bfd51a6.jpg

Quite a tidy casting, barring the fussy double rear bumper. The side markers show it's a federal spec model but the real ones never had a double effort. Nice to see some coloured rear lamps, though.

Then it was time to take another peak at the very generously traded Corgi Juniors Dodge Magnum, from @andrew e.

20230104_183855.thumb.jpg.2202ac599e44a80dfecce6e7f72e6263.jpg

20230104_183926.thumb.jpg.37b1b280af4dccb9ed4284a850ed26d2.jpg

A strange little casting and for some reason, only sold for a really short time in the early 80's. It's got an opening bonnet, so I figured it might've been dropped in favour of a cheaper casting in the ailing years of Corgi - but they still sold the SD1/Rancho/Nova with opening boots and even cast the C4 Corvette with much larger opening bonnet, after dropping this.

20230104_184140.thumb.jpg.e7a5159157c7dd07050689905920fe0c.jpg

Anyway, a great little curio, irrespective of what the reasoning was.

Its very old, mostly plastic and has a metal ‘motor’ style unit in the cab to make an engine sound as it moves along. Absolutely no idea what it is or who made it.

Yes the Monte car should have a rear bumper. There was also a roof rack with spare wheels and tyres. Looks like you are missing a rear arch too.

I did both the monte and road versions, but did my road car in Island blue. Sadly long gone in the mists of time.

Superb posts @MiniMinorMk3!

I've got an Old cars Iveco Truck and trailer that I bought at a swapmeet in 1996.  It took me about 20 years to find out who made it! I thought it had an unusually high level of detail and it was too big and lightweight for a Tekno. It's one of my favourites.

I first became aware of Old Cars through the Fiat Race Car Transporters they do. Brumm now do set with their own cars.

Yes I'd like to get them done at some point, but they'll have to join the queue. I think the Revell XR3 is more or less done and just needs putting together. The Raliegh I had started to make up as a Roy Thame I had at the time, but think it should revert to Raliegh when I do that. Not sure what to do about the Burago XR3 though.as it kind isn't relevant any more and would be better if I hadn't cut the sunroof and removed the spoiler.

I didn't notice the arch! I'm pretty sure all the bits will be in the box somewhere. I expect I was making the Clubman front to be one of the 1275GTs I had, can't remember now, but may have to get on that again. I think one of the things that put me off at the time (apart from moving on the Fords) was that both my 1275GTs had 12inch wheels and I never worked out how to represent that in 1/24 or whatever it is.

I did make various die cast models of my Mini 1000 and pretty sure I have posted pics of them before in this thread, I'll have to see if I can find what page.

You'd have to stretch the front wings though as the axle line was brought forward to lengthen the wheelbase

So I am sat in my living room watching my 15 month old lad playing with his toys. And I got thinking about all the stuff I have in the loft that I can pass down to him. One thing crossed my mind, I have a Britains Task force set up there he can have. Some bits are missing and probably damaged so let’s have a look on eBay ….

The base I have

ouch. Ok. Maybe the figures I have? (Or don’t have because they’re lost)

ouch again….. then I remember they did a white and brown Landrover that I never had because money…

oh wow. That’s crazy money.
such a shame. But I guess they are in collector’s possession now, and kids don’t want them. If anyone has any old Britains task force stuff, for reasonable coin, that my lad can grow up with should me up!
